28 year old Harry Wilson now level on caps with Ryan Giggs.

Annis, it was a disgrace the amount of games Giggs missed for Wales.

Didn't Giggs only play about two friendlies for Wales?
Didn't have the balls to stand up to Ferguson or just couldn't be arsed turning up for Wales friendly games.
Odious individual.

I'm sure he never played a friendly for Wales, at one stage when fergie didn't want him to play for Wales giggs was ranked no 1 player in the world, so what would fergie had done if giggs ignored him??? I don't think giggs wanted to turn up.

We know Giggs is a terrible person.
But if Giggs ignored him then Sir Alex would have got him out of Man Utd. Just like he did with Beckham, Keane, Stam etc.
When you see those ex-Man Utd players come across Sir Alex even now, they're all still terrified of him.

Beckham, the Nevilles etc always used to play for England in friendlies whereas Giggs never turned up for Wales.
Either Ferguson told Giggs not to turn up and he was happy to comply despite his English team mates playing in friendlies or Ferguson was happy for Giggs to turn up but he couldn't be arsed.

Full-time, part-time, no-time Giggs!
They say ‘
Fergie’ stopped him turning out for Wales non-competitive games, but he didn’t seem to take the same approach with others?
Either way, congratulations to Harry Wilson, who will soon overtake Giggs’ cap count after already beating him (Giggs) in major tournament appearances!

I am not sure what happened with the likes of Keane and Schmiecal but I am going to cut Giggs
some slack here as I think the rules were different in those days. A club had to release a player for international duty where they played for a "foreign" country in a competitive match but not a friendly. However as United were governed by the FA, the FA could insist that they release England players whatever the game. The Welsh FA had no such rights in respect to friendlies apart from Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham players. Some clubs were happy to release players, but as I seem to remember - but it was a long time ago- Ferguson wasn't particularly happy to release anyone but particularly Giggs because for a while he had an ongoing issue with his achillees tendons or hamstring . (Which according to some reports at the time cleared up when he changed his car as it was believed to be as a result of the low driving position of the old car! Spend all that money on physios and sports scientists and its something as simple as that:

We should be celebrating Harry reaching that milestone rather than complaining about Giggs & the past. What's gone is gone.

Good point; but Giggs legacy will always be tainted with ‘maybe, could have, should have’

Whilst I think the think the criticism of Giggs is a little- not entirely- unfair, that's the whole point of the "milestone". That he has already equaled Giggs caps.

Well done Harry Wilson.
However I have to point out the obvious about Ryan Giggs.
He did choose Wales over England and we should celebrate a Welshman winning 13 Premier league titles along with a number of domestic cups and the European and world club trophies.
Instead, it's my guess a few old anti-Man Utd reactions have been made here !

I think the criticism of Giggs is well over done but I am pretty sure he had no choice in the matter of playing for Wales. He was born in Cardiff of Welsh parents and only moved to Manchester when his father joined Salford Rugby League. Think he was about 8 at the time. He maintained strong links to the area as he used to visit his grandparents a fair bit. Although he played for English schools that did not entitle him to play for them. It may have changed since his day but pretty sure that wasn't the case then
