How the hell did the The Transfer Committee give him a New 2 year Contract ???
Kion Etete suffers another injury nightmare
Kion Etete's battle against injury continues to worsen as he was taken off just 22 minutes into Rotherham's clash with Exeter City.
The striker missed almost the entirety of last season through two lots of injuries. He sustained an ACL problem on tour in Austria under Erol Bulut, before he was sent on loan to Bolton in the January transfer window.
However, that loan to Greater Manchester proved a disaster, with the forward suffering a thigh injury which meant he played only five times for the League One club.
It was hoped this season would represent an opportunity for him to gain a clean bill of health and start racking up the goals, however there was concern, owing to his past injury record, when he was hooked midway through the first half.
Etete went down after 19 minutes and received treatment for two minutes before it was decided that he could not continue and he was replaced by Joe Rafferty.

Crazy we gave him another contract, he came to us with promise but so injury prone he’s hardly had a decent run in the team and hasn’t impressed when he was in the team.

crazy to give him a new contract
if bbm was here before etete signed the extension I believe he would have just let him go
he just doesn't offer anything

Yes he does seem injury prone, and, I guess his contract cost us a bit. But he is out on loan.
I wonder what a ridiculous amount we paid Callum Robinson for his contract!!! A lot more. I am sure BMM would have not given CR a 2 year highly paid contract. But, a lot on here thought that was good business

I've always thought he was ok every time he's actually played for us he's shown glimpses. I don't think it's crazy to give him a bit more time to develop especially if it's a low contract. Not that it matters I'm guessing BBM didn't have to send him on loan as we are thin on the ground up front, good luck to him I don't see him playing for us again

He needs to retire.

It’s certainly a worry for him and his employers, but I hope he sorts it all out. There’s a good player in there somewhere and he must be pretty despondent at his (still) young age

I've always said he's a Sunday league player playing professional football amazing really. Don't rate him one bit even when he plays.

Agree.

Probably in the minority but I saw glimpses of talent when he had a decent run in our team.
A lowish contract to loan out wasn't a terrible decision. Remember we paid 500k to spurs so a loan to see potential could have paid off. In this case it hasn't and more than anything injury prone has stopped it. Albeit ability has to be in question too

I don’t think you are.
There’s something there. If he would ever show it it would be under this manager.

He certainly tried when he came on last season & that's more than can be said for 80% of the team.

Certain players seem prone to regular injuries.
In recent seasons, this included Joe Ralls and Aaron Ramsey.
Unfortunately, Etete is amongst this group.
In addition, I'm wondering if Tanner will be amongst the list.
