A forum for all things Cardiff City
Sun Aug 31, 2025 6:00 pm
The transfer window will close on Monday. Note the earlier time of the deadline, it is at 7pm - not the usual 11pm.
Cardiff City are looking to bring in up to three new players - a winger, a left back and a central midfielder.
They are believed to be hoping to complete a loan deal for Chelsea youngster Omari Kellyman, though that is not certain to happen at time of writing.
Some players will leave too, with loan moves lined up for some that won't be part of the First Team.
Elsewhere, there could be some big deals completed.
Alexander Isak has demanded a move from Newcastle but, so far, no club have met their valuation of £150m for him.
Marc Guehi has been linked with a move away from Crystal Palace.
Manchester United are hoping to conclude a deal for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez. He was not involved in their match with Crystal Palace on Sunday night - Marc Guehi did play in that match.
And there will be plenty more transfer movement I'm sure, as always on Deadline Day.

They can sign someone as late as possible as far as I care. Mind you I'll be in bed for most of it

Villa got a president of football operations who helps coach find players...perhaps city need one aswell?

We still need to get a couple of players in - after the start we have had we need to get cover in to keep pushing .

Not doing Villa much good, they were dreadful tonight. Losing their goalkeeper to Man Utd tomorrow as well. PSR hasn't helped them.
When it comes to us, I know for a fact that people within the club have given him names of players he can sign if he wants and he's said no.
He's very picky with the players he wants to sign and decided to bring in a few quality players that will improve us instead of signing loads of players for the sake of it, that wouldn't improve us and just clog up the wage bill. And if he couldn't get quality players, he would have just been happy to go with what he's got.
I think if we can get a LB (as well as Kellyman) then he'll be happy.
The January window is only four months away so we'll see where we are then and he can always add to the squad in that window if needed.

Was being phaseacious ned! I've always said dof is not for everyone and even with one things dont go well ... I'm not sure a dof would be what ddm wants he prefers people he trusts and work in similar way to him... i still believe we can do a double promotion given the right backing more convinced after just 6 games.

No, that looks off now. They lined up two goalkeepers, Martinez and a younger one who plays for Antwerp. They've decided to with the one from Antwerp instead.
Liverpool still trying to sign Guehi from Palace. Not certain to be done though.

Id be surprised to see anymore new faces into the club, and if they do come they will be nothing more than support players at LB or CM perhaps.

They badly need a goalie who is not related to dracula!

Never seen two goalies at any level so inept at crosses that utd got.

That's all we need in my opinion, currently no back up to Bagan and if Wintle gets injured or suspended there's no one to replace him after King got injured.
Mon Sep 01, 2025 2:02 pm
If Wintle gets injured Osho or Ng can play there or Chambers but would agree another body would gave been ideal plus Lb

Robertson played as a six under BBM at Man City.
Osho, Mafico and Chambers can also play there.
Club trying to get a LB but will only happen if they're the right quality. Ng can cover there if not.

Marc Guehi is going to Liverpool from Crystal Palace. Fee of £35m.

Marshall Washington name just appeared on X... Arsenal youngster, dunno if its just a fan mentioning it of if there is any substance to it.
Mon Sep 01, 2025 2:41 pm
Marcell, apologies.
Was posted by a city fan by the looks of it so probably nonsense.
17Yr old left back ex Chelsea current Arsenal.

Leeds are in talks to sign Harry Wilson from Fulham
Mon Sep 01, 2025 2:56 pm
Unless things change, unlikely that Cardiff will make further signings before 7pm.
The manager has been clear he would bring in quality or go with what he has.
Luey Giles will not be loaned out unless a LB is signed.
Mon Sep 01, 2025 3:10 pm
It will be disappointing if we haven't bought in a LB.
We've needed one from the start of the season, we can't use this quality line as an out.
Should have been sorted by now.
Hopefully we get one before it closes. If Bagan get's injured we will be very week down the left hand side.
