Amazing story of how BBM got the job

I did not know this but have now been told this:

BBM went into his interview with the club and didn't just say "I'll play the young players". He knew everything about our academy players - their position, what they're good at etc. And that is right through the academy.

How did he know all this? Because his assistant was still working at Man City academy as a talent scout and coach.

And he had for a long time been looking at our academy and knew how good our young kids were.

So when BBM talked about all this in his interview, the board and Tan couldn't believe how much he knew and it blew them away.

They did miss out on their first targets for the new manager but I'm now glad they did, because this manager just seems perfect for us.

My opinion is I don't credit Purse much for these young players because a lot of them didn't even work with Purse that much.

But what a brilliant story and so far it is working

As for Purse, there's an argument for saying that some of the youngsters were being held back for too long when he was in charge.

I get what you're saying but at the end of the day it's been the managers who pick the team & which players to play so they're way more to blame than Purse no matter what we think of him.

Is virtually spot on that’s exactly how they both got the jobs and I have to say Deservedly so

All previous manager had bullshitted and said about our younger players and never really gave them a chance like we saw.
So they actually knew everything about all of them individually .

Many youngsters were lost under Purse and some of these New youngsters Purse has hardly been involved them.

Brilliant story , and he seems a proper decent guy and maybe we have found a gem . I’m so impressed by him so far and was so wrong in my summary of him when appointed . It’s about time we had some luck . Looking forward to every game now and I believe we are going to get even better through the season

With these system managers, they need to be in total control, luckily for him, our absentee leadership has allowed him to control almost everything. In most clubs, he'd have to fit into their DOF or Sporting structure.

The stars have aligned for Tan & Co. Great manager, an outstanding cohort of young players and somehow they have kept 95% of the fans.

If he can get promoted without spending much, these players will do great in the championship next season, not like Birmingham last season they bought promotion,makes Cardiff look promising for a buyer, the set up that Cardiff has with the youngsters going forward is very promising. BBM BABES.

Great story and the younger ones are playing well currently but what would have happened to them if above said to BBM here's 50m to spend. There might have been a different outcome and on the pitch results wise but I feel he was brought in for the reason we are seeing they had to be playing in the first team so kind of a forced hand because of funds available to him. Eitherway long may this continue

There’s an old saying, “knowledge is King!” and BBM is a great example of this, according to this story!

Tan must have thought he’d struck gold, if his manager told him he could/would use the players en situ, as he’d done his homework and believed he (BBM) could work with what he had (plus a couple of smart ins and outs)

No matter what, it’s worked (so far) and both the team and, we the supporters, are reaping the benefits!

Politics aside, we have to be happy so far, and I understand we will be a little happier again this time tomorrow!

The perfect outcome is a proper buyer who comes in and is prepared to pay the full asking price, buys the club, pays off the debt, gives Barry-Murphy a war chest and then leaves BBM to crack on without any interference.
