" Second half a joy to watch "

Just a few quick thoughts from me:

First half scrappy, Wintle goal changed the game.

Second half we were brilliant, Plymouth couldn't get near us at times.

And we are still top of the league.

Brilliant :bluebird:

Agree Ned but but for a few misplaced passes it might have been more
Well done city

Even game until Wintles stunner them we took total control. Plymouth look poor. Still would like us to control midfield a bit better at times. Joel Colwill was my mom. Such an engine.

Prior to wintle goal was a tough game and Plymouth looked decent. Goals change games and we dominated after this.

Joel Colwill immense

Fabulous result, good team performance once again.
It would be nice to see Salech and Robinson on the score sheet a bit more often, but I expect that to come.

Plymouth moved the ball well in the first half but they never really looked like scoring.

Trott made a couple of decent saves in the second half but that was it.

They drew away at Swansea mid-week only lost on penalties.

Barry-Murphy's possession-based football will do this week in and week out: the first half will knacker them out, and the second half will batter them when they are worn out. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Could of been more to be fair we were relentless second half and I'm sure the big man would of been looking on from above nodding his approval and the players dedicated this one to sol, I love how together our squad is this season

I thought we controlled the game from start to finish and at no point did Plymouth look like they'd get anything out of it.

Not impressed by them but we set the tempo and they hardly threatened at all.

Not sure how much they paid for that fanny up front with the man bun from Port Vale but it was a waste of money.

What I liked in 2nd half was the subs. BBM took off both wingers fresh wingers on both with pace. We seemed to go up another level with the subs today

Actually said something to my Dad today about this. It's interesting that they are constantly in the same position on the pitch during attacks - either loitering either on the edge of the box in the build up or just outside the 6 yard box when shots are put in. They are two different types of strikers but this stuff is very clearly managed. Then I remembered BBM talking about Rubin after he scored the worldy against Peterboro and saying how great it is that he has this in his locker but he expects him top add 'standard goals' into his locker.

I think this is the thinking behind the strikers.

They are there to finish off the rebounds from shots etc and placed very specifically to maximise the chance of any shot on target being converted into goals.

Just a thought but I think we will see both Salech snd Robinson scoring the majority of their goals from around the 6 yard box.
