New signing: Gabriel Osho has joined the Bluebirds from Ligue 1 side Auxerre.


Osho has signed a four year deal.

What a capture for Cardiff City, Osho has recent Premier League experience with Luton and has worked with BB-M previously.

Good wages over the 4 years.

And a Signing on Fee.

No real fee involved, the money out is to bring him to Div

Barry-Murphy said we’d only add quality, and Osho and Trott are proof of that. I much prefer proper scouting and signing players who will genuinely improve us, rather than the scattergun approach of the past.

Another three would be great as long as they’re the right players. If not, I trust him to bring in younger players when needed and coach them into the squad, like he's starting to do with Mafico.

1 or 2 more good signings and we have got a solid squad of players, great times are on there way back. BBM...

Well, i've been a bit dubious when Murphy kept saying "quality signings only" but for div 1 this is a very good signing. 2-3 more please.

“Brian played a big part. It’s always important when the player has a good relationship with the manager. I had a really good time at Rochdale, and the connection I built with Brian and the staff there was pretty amazing. I think the relationship really was a contributing factor.

Cardiff City FC are delighted to welcome central defender Gabriel Osho to the Club.

The 27-year-old arrives in the Welsh capital on a permanent deal from Ligue 1 outfit AJ Auxerre, signing a four-year contract with the Bluebirds for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.

Having begun his career at Reading, the centre-back moved to Luton Town in 2020 and enjoyed an impressive spell with the Hatters.

Gabe was part of the side that earned promotion to the Premier League in the 2022/23 season, and went on to make 21 top-flight appearances the following year, scoring twice, with his first Premier League goal coming in a home fixture against Arsenal.

Earlier in his spell at Kenilworth Road, the defender had enjoyed a loan spell at Rochdale, where he worked with City boss Brian Barry-Murphy.

After spending the 2024/25 campaign in France, Osho has now reunited with Brian in the Welsh capital, becoming our second signing of the transfer window following the loan acquisition of goalkeeper Nathan Trott.

Upon becoming a Bluebird, Gabe told Cardiff City TV: “I’m really happy, and really excited. It’s been a long time in the works, so to finally be here at the stadium and in the city has been good. I’m buzzing to get going.

Over the moon budd quality like he said 3/4 just waiting for the others to arrive.

So will the plan he goes straight into CB and break up the Lawlor/Fish centre back partnerships or in at RB?

Helps that he's worked with BBM before so knows what's expected of him.

But he's a top player and way above this level. Very pleased with this.

Just my thoughts with trott out and disrupting the back pairing is it a good idea to put straight in to this game or let them train together first to see whether fish or lawlor gets dropped.

Excellent statement signing. I will though just quietly remind how many on this board in early pre-season were bashing the 'Rochdale manager' , saying the squad will be in a relegation battle and there is no money, the board will do everything cheaply. Sometimes it pays to be patient. Looks like exciting times ahead.
