What I can’t understand

Is - as the transfer window has been open for so long why do we leave it to the last 5 days to sign players? Other have and do sign players weeks ago. And as I always predict we will hear those well trodden words from someone at the club - we couldn’t get it over the line in time. Yet we are down to the bare bones already with Tanner, King , Turnbull and Robertson out for varying lengths of time.

I've said all along that the players we are after would not move until the last few days which is why I've never been in a panic.

If it adds the quality that the manager wants, I was always happy to wait.

I suspect it's because the players we want will not be allowed to move until their own club can replace them or haven't finalised their squads yet

Clubs are still signing players even now. Yes, it’s very late, but have we really suffered from lack of signings so far?

Plymouth did theirs early, and still brought another in recently, but it hasn't done them any good so far

Been saying this for the last 2 months (Side Show) - If plyers were targeted should have got them in early .
Better for these new faces to get in early and get to know their team mates on and off the field .

I asked myself a big question this morning and that question is Ì wonder if the South Africans are still in the game Ì know we have been fed information from Dalman that it’s not going to happen but cmon guys he’s so full of shit isn’t he. Maybe developments have happened behind the scenes as I just can’t see Tan paying for this and it seems an absolutely mental signing for a league 1 club!!!

Our biggest earner is Callum Chambers (c.£30k) and there are Championship teams who would take him

Robertson unlikely to go before the Winter break due to his injury but he will have opportunities to prove himself to BBM before that

I’m told enquiries in for several players and some will leave. However, BBM is playing hard ball on his most prized possessions, and he’s stated neither of our main strikers (Salech and Robinson) will be going anywhere, nor will our prized youngsters, inc. Rubin, Joel (Colwill), Kpakio, Lawlor, etc.

If we get out of this division, we will be well placed to take a tilt at the Championship and those same players will be a part of that journey or they will command pretty large fees to take them away

At current rate, we are going to be as buoyant as we have for a number of years on the playing side!
