CALLUM ROBINSON ?

Tue Aug 26, 2025 8:42 pm

Hope he has' nt gone into sulk mode again has a history of it, he has not looked even 50% the only positive is nobody would want to sign him at the moment.

It's a shame he banged in a few last season with a sh.t side perhaps he feels old with the youngsters all around him,
apart from chambers,
and with murphy liking the young ones perhaps there is something not right.

Too slow to everything. It may just be the years catching up with him.

I do think he's worth having around though, he always has a goalscoring moment in him.

Do we need another striker then if salech gets injured we inly have Robinson left?

I think he will still score goals in league one

Davies is a striker too.

But I think we'll probably sign someeone who can play both wide and as a striker, hopefully someone like Biancheri.

I said start of the summer he would have been one I would have happily got rid of,probs on big money and his work rate can be questioned, and in the games I’ve seen him play so far this season he hasn’t look arsed in any game

I’ve always said that mate we’ve needed another striker all summer, can’t rely on Robinson and isak davies their made of glass and always injuryed,Salech for me his a fox in the box but doesn’t like the physical side of it a lot of defenders trying to rough up I’ve noticed in games

Salech doesn't like the physical side? - can't agree with that.

Re: CALLUM ROBINSON ?

I thought he did alright in the luton game
I know he fluffed a sitter but he was chasing down defenders and seemed full of beans
even nearly scored from the halfway line too

I’m with you here. He loves the rough stuff.

A new contract for him was bonkers. Top earner now isn't he?

Another ego alongside the likes of Tomlin, Josh Murphy, they are over paid show ponies who pick thier game up just before contract renewal time or the transfer window.

Just pick a youngster and stay with him through ups and downs ..you get better value and effort and less ego.

Never ever won any 50/50’s now losing 60/40’s (in his favour) :banghead: go with the youngsters :bluebird:

Annis. BBM said yesterday he still needs time said he’s still not 100% at the minute and has to manage him until he’s 100%

If Salech gets injured we could always throw Robert Tankiewicz into the mix, that’s probably the plan

Hes being asked to play a different role. Alot of dropping deeper and getting the ball moving.
Its not the same as previous.
Hes doing what hes asked.

Exactly that it's called instructions for games they all get them irrelevant of position but some won't grasp as they probably never kicked a ball at any decent level I'm guessing but if you listen to them in the know he slow, not interested, don't want or be here, happy to sit on the bench, it's a bad egg in the camp, blah blah blah and all the other made up crap people spin off but it does make me laugh

Or maybe they are players who need an arm around them and fans to get behind them which our fans (not including Mafico incident) seem incapable of.

Murphy was at Portsmouth last year signed on a three year deal start of season. Probably his best season ever. He missed 8 games and was still involved in a large and wholly disproportionate amount of Portsmouth’s goal. Probably one of the best wingers in the championship last season nowhere near his contract renewal time. Funnily enough Portsmouth fans are renowned for getting behind their players.

In my book thats a negative. I was hoping we could sell CR and get a better replacement. I said we shoud not have extended the contract of a 30 year old player whose record shows he has never been prolific. However, if he scores then some on here think he is the bees knees. Last year I did a thread “Battlers not bottlers” but sadly the manager kept picking Robinson and several others who were not up for the fight.
For me, except for scoring the odd goal, CR contributes little else. He Doesnt tackle doesnt challenge or close down effectively.
Nonetheless, I get no pleasure from seeing him play poorly and when he gets picked I hope he does well.

Wasn't involved much, but would've had a tap in if Rubin squared it to him instead of trying to score from an almost impossible angle.

Isaak Davies also had a chance to find him but the final ball was poor.

Certainly don't think he's gone into sulk mode but on the other hand, Salech is well clear of him for the starting spot

Re: CALLUM ROBINSON ?

Sat Aug 30, 2025 6:27 pm

Despite his lack of chances I thought he did well when he came on

Re: CALLUM ROBINSON ?

Sat Aug 30, 2025 8:07 pm

His pressing was much better today.

Could have got a goal but him and Rubin left it to each other and the defender then cleared it.

He's not on international duty so will have two weeks to get up to speed before Stockport, remember he joined pre-season later than other players because of his injury.

He has a part to play this season if we're to get promoted.

His reaction next to bbm when 1st n 2nd goals went in, he seemed happy enough certainly wasn't sulking

Re: CALLUM ROBINSON ?

The bit that did concern me yesterday was that while the rest of the squad were over at the Canton celebrating yesterday’s win, he was on his own near halfway and walked off down the tunnel first.

I actually thought he pressed well yesterday, although he doesn’t look 100% at present.
