Gabriel Osho
The centre-back, who is understood to have undergone a medical today, would become City's first outfield signing of the window after the impressive Nathan Trott joined on loan - with a view to purchasing him if promoted - from FC Copenhagen earlier in the summer.

Inside Clubs on Twitter (who’s had correct news in the past) believes we could see a signing potentially tomorrow.
Believes this could a permanent signing.

Any indication elsewhere as to who this is?

Si on Cardiff City World has alluded to it being Gabriel Osho from Auxerre.

Name was linked a couple of weeks ago but it went quiet and some said there was nothing in it.

Osho has played under bbm before, he's 27 a ball playing cb and fits the type of player bbm likes
However I can't see us paying the 1.5 mil price tag and he's also started the last 2 games for auxere so couldn't see him dropping down to league 1
However it would be a great signing if it happened

Better get checking the flight tracker then!

Funnily enough a private jet has landed into Cardiff airport, from Florence
Tue Aug 26, 2025 12:46 pm
Hope he signs just what we crying out for
Tue Aug 26, 2025 1:19 pm
Osho made 21 appearances for Luton in the Premier League and scored twice
27 championship appearances in 22/23
23 championship appearances in 21/22
Plenty of experience and a good signing for a League One team if we can pull it off

He did point out it was a complete guess and didn't know

Not from a very reliable source though.

If the flight has come in from Florence, home of Fiorentina, maybe we got a Joint signing in David De Gea and Edin Dzeko

Rabbi Matondo is being thrown around on social media by quite a lot of people. Apparently attending tonight’s game
Don’t shoot the messenger!

May well be him, I don't know.
But I'm slightly sceptical because it seemed to have started from that "all about League One page" which doesn't seem overly reliable.
But I suppose there equally could be something in it!

Matondo and Osho would be great signings. Not holding out much hope for either though, feel they are a little beyond us in league 1.

But have they been seen in the estate agents asking about decent schools for the kids...???

Either or both would raise the average age of the squad considerably.
Dzeko must be in his 50s now!

That would be great, looks positive on Osho anyway
Maybe that will see us ship Darland out now, we have replaced him.

50 championship appearances 21 premier league appearances in the 3 years before he went to Auxerre last year.

Absolutely brilliant signing and in a position we really needed to strengthen.
I'm delighted with this.
But also shocked, because I didn't think we'd get him.

Yea I didn't think for a second he would drop down to league 1 so if we do get this over the line then fair play to the club

If Oshi signs where does this leave the Lawlor Fish partnership and even more intriguingly Chambers?

Would likely see a osho fish partnership

Auxerre defender Gabriel ex Rochdale
Permanent Signing

Just having a read and it's says osho can also play as a full back and defensive midfielder but mainly as a centre back
This is the type of versatility bbm said he wanted in any transfers he brings In

I’m very surprised, and pleased, if this is correct.
He’s way above Div 1 level. Looked fine at Prem level so very encouraging.
Could do with a left back and winger though.
