Team for Cheltenham?

Sun Aug 24, 2025 6:14 pm

I think we'll play a relatively strong team, we did in the last round.

But would also expect there to be changes.

Robertson and Ng are available again. I don't know if they'll start but would be a good chance to give them some minutes.

Chambers may start at CB, I know there are concerns with that but I expect him to start and Lawlor could do with a rest for this game.

I would go with something like:

Turner
Ng Chambers Fish Bagan
King Robertson JColwill
Ashford Robinson Davies

Yeah that's a fair point, but seems like a good game to give them minutes.

I'd start them if they are fit enough, give them the first half, and see if they can do a bit more at half time, the first teamers need a rest and it's the perfect time to start getting them up to speed.

Totally agree and would be very surprised if they didn't start. I am not of the "players need a rest" school of thought but on this occasion I think we need to rest as many of the starters last Saturday as possible because they have had a hard 8 days. Also a great opportunity to play the likes of King and a few of the fringe youngsters with a strong bench in case they are needed.

…and as our squad is thin atm we don’t need any more injuries to key players.

I think we’ll see both start with one eye on their fitness for Saturday and beyond, Ned

Thankfully, we will have options on the bench to cover any eventualities that might occur, but fingers crossed for both, as we are already feeling the strain on a compact squad! :ayatollah:
