BBM says the fans can get carried away

Sat Aug 23, 2025 8:00 pm

Brian Barry-Murphy:

"The fans should get carried away.

Whatever happened last season and before was really difficult for them so they can feel what they feel today naturally. They deserve it.

The players, the same. They can enjoy the moment and celebrate in the dressing room as they have done.

But for me it's about recovering them tomorrow and getting ready for Tuesday."

Brian, my inspirational friend, In footballing terms, I am scarred, I can't remember how to celebrate, I am waiting for the inevitable collapse.

It's going to take a while to recover :D

Think we all feel a bit like that.

I've been a big fan of Brian since his first interview but expected us to lose today, because (other than Vale) the first four games seemed too comfortable. Assumed it would crash when we played a decent team like Luton. It didn't.

But after today, I can't help but feel a little bit excited.

It's not just the winning, but the style of play is good to watch. I was worried at first that we would just control possession around the defence and it would fall apart in midfield.

But it seems to be more than that. We look dangerous when we attack at the right time.

He does seem to know what he's doing and the big thing is the players have bought into it.

Long way to go, but it is exciting.

I've said since day 1 bbm is the real deal, my wife says I have a man crush lol, but I just think what he's done in such a short space of time with such a small young squad is phenomenal

I had us to win 2-0 today on my betting slip damn you rubin Colwill lol

I was really positive about him after his first interview and even more so after the first press conference.

I was a bit worried we were going to be a Man City copycat, but I don't think that's what we are.

He clearly has the ability to improve players and has high man management skills.

We've seen that with Rubin. Best performance we've seen so far from Willock today.

But most of all, the players seem motivated and happy. Saw clips after the game of Robinson laughing with him which is great because, even though he started today, he hasn't had much game time.

I believe he'll be a big success - but he needs additions because of injuries.

Absolutely, just as in life we will all experience good bad and indifferent periods, so so important to enjoy the good times. We as a family are loving the journey currently :bluebird:

He deserved a goal from that keeper off the line lob, it was brilliant, the jammy buzard just got to it in time.
