Speaks so well and eloquently - BUT - he gave no encouragement on the transfer front and said the deadline is approaching. BUT he has always said he needs 3-4 quality signings. Although arriving late he has still had 7 weeks to sign players. Even the eternal optimist Worcester said he’s getting worried. I still believe he will be because of Tan, saying ‘we couldn’t get them over the line’. If so that would be embarrassing. We need more bodies in to cover 14 that have left and to cover suspensions and injuries

But he says time after time, Tan is supporting him, he will only sign the right players.

Agree, though we desperately need four or more.

To be honest I’d rather he doesn’t say much. Keeps expectation low and if we sign players then it’s a) nice and unexpected and b) who the manager wants.

To be fair, he has always reacted in the same way to questions about transfers.

He has repeated that he expects signings in.

I just think him not going overboard in his talk about transfers is his way of doing things.

He has no other choice but to say that as he would be gone immediately.
