Willock

Thu Aug 21, 2025 3:14 pm

Do we think he'll start on Saturday or will it be Isaak Davies to replace Tanner?

I may get some pushback on this but I actually thought Willock did pretty well from the bench on Tuesday.

Yes there were a couple of poor crosses.

But he played a part in both the Robinson penalty shout and in the build up to the goal.

He also made a couple of important tackles.

I'm not saying he was brilliant but there was improvement.

I think he'll probably start at Luton and hope there can be further improvement.

It hasn't worked with us for him so far but there is a good player there, we know that from when he was at QPR. He should be good enough for this league when called upon.

Willock starting? Not for me he didn't play bad when he came on still didn't have same confidence as tanner defensively coming off the bench yeh maybe but he's not showed me anything to think he's a starter so Davies for me

I am sick of Willock cutting in and blasting a cross and/or shot over the bar. He's so wasteful in good positions.

He also doesn't press anywhere near the level that the others do.

I wouldn't have him in our u19's.

I’ve been a critic of him, but I agree with you. He turned in a decent shift on Tuesday. Hope he keeps it up.

Total flop so far since he's been here in my opinion although he can do one thing and change a game but very rarely. I just think he's to lazy to figure for BBM if and a big if he gets some quality signings he keeps saying 3 or 4 then willock won't even feature i bet but we shall see. He don't fancy the older players hence why they was all on the bench Vs Wimbledon I noticed but has to play them as nobody else yet I'm guessing. :bluescarf:

You would think in the time he is given on the pitch he would want to make the most of it and fight for his place and the shirt,
and for the fans in the stands.
Some players get it some don' t a bit like the managers murphy seems to get it like warnock did.

I think he’s a confidence player. Has struggled with bottle in a number of games, but was pleasantly surprised to see him involved in challenges on Tuesday. If BBM has been able to boost his confidence long May it last. He’s obviously got the skills for this league, at least.

Was better Tuesday but not good enough. Davies has to start. Scored and deserves his place. If I'm honest none of our wingers are consistent and are one trick ponies. Cut in, never beat a man on the outside, Salech must be so frustrated with lack of service from the byline.

I wish we'd give Robinson a go out there, get as much quality out there as you can

He came here with a reputation as a game changer but hasn’t done it that much. I seem to remember as a QPR player he tore us a new one.We would all to see him in that sort of form for us.

He did ok when he came on, was a bit more confident taking on his man, but final ball and press still leaves a lot to be desired personally.

Has to be Isaak for me.

Doing OK today

Let’s hope he gets the praise he deserves today.

Too many people happy to slate players, don’t forget the praise.

He’s genuinely been outstanding.
His press has been there, and his final ball has been far better today.

Outstanding today.

If it wasn't for Trott, he'd be MOTM.

Lovely performance from him today, did all the simple stuff outstandingly well, and had some really classy touches too, fabulous goal. Well done Chris, best game in a Cardiff shirt.

That was for all the Willock doubters as listed earlier on this thread! :occasion5: :laughing5:

Was brilliant today and loved how he sat McGuinness on his backside before he scored. Getting rid of McGuinness was a great bit of business. Willock showing him up superbly.

Re: Willock

Hopefully, he has found a manager and system that works for him.

I am old school, i want my winger to push the ball in front of him and burn the defender, I don't think he'd get a game under BBM.

Dinosaur signing off from being critical of him.

(CR doesn't fit, though)

Best game to date you can keep your place play for the shirt and us fans and we will return it back to you.
Well done willock and let's be honest most have thought he was not interested thankfully murphy takes the credit for boosting his confidence, but tanners out and he had his chance and took it keep it up.

I’ve been a big critic of his, so delighted to be proven wrong today and long may it continue!

Credit where it's due.

Excellent performance today and a super goal.

Needs to do that consistently and work on his crossing and he could have a big part to play this season.

I’m not his greatest fan as consider him lazy and often backs out of 50/50 challenges.
Credit to him today though for a lovely bit of skill and a great finish.
I hope this gives him the encouragement and confidence to repeat this kind of performance. :notworthy:
