Nearly halfway

Wed Aug 20, 2025 8:00 pm

I know a lot of fans always say that a manager should be judged after ten games. I think that's fair, it's the right timeframe in my opinion.

We've had a good start with ten points from a possible twelve and even though I'm a big supporter of BBM, I am conscious of the fact that at the moment it's just that - a good start.

But we will be halfway to those ten league games after Saturday.

What points total do you think would be a successful first ten games? Or what league position if you'd rather judge it on that?

Obviously we have ten points from the first four and the next six are:

Luton (a)
Plymouth (h)
Burton (h) - could be postponed for international call ups
Stockport (a)
Bradford (h)
Wigan (a)

Looks a much tougher set of fixtures than the 4 we have had so far, I think we will know a lot more about our team after those 6

Obviously 18 points is the dream lol but realistically 10 would be a decent return imo

That would give us 20 points from 10 games which averages 2 points per game which over the season would probably see us finish top 2

He's done well, especially seeing as he was only left with the youth team and a few add-ons.

Promotion form is four points every two games, win at home, draw away of the other way around, so two points a game, twenty after ten, and so on. We have to remember it's only league one and little old Wrexham got promoted last year with a few pub team players and a few ex-professional footballer pensioners.

How many players do we have to have called up for Burton to be postponed?

Just seen it's 3 players, including all of full international, U21, U20, U19. so that'll definitely be called off by the looks

Lucky Alex Ferguson was given more than 10 games to turn Utd around otherwise his paltry 13 points would have seen him sacked here by our fast food fans .He has come late in pre season lost 14 players and started to implement a new playing style he will need more time at least till xmas to see how we are shaping up .There is a definite an upward direction in performance, attitude and fitness, let’s give him a real chance to succeed instead of ridiculous time scales especially as he’s only been allowed to bring in one excellent signing so far :old: :bluescarf:

I was going to make a judgement call for the Plymouth and Luton games but both teams have been disappointing. I'm expecting us to go undefeated here and to have a good return with the remaining games up to the 10 game mark. We could find ourselves in a strong position after those games of 10.

I will judge BBM after 12 games:

Great start so far.

I feel we played the weaker teams so far and the real test starts on Saturday. :bluebird:

But can’t fault our start

I'm totally same annis a good start but leagues not won in 4 games I'll access after 10/12 games no excuses he hasn't had a lot of preseason he's been here for preseason so 10/12 games we should have a better idea where this is going

10/12 games is a yard stick to measure a manager this has been used for years with most fans ,
at the moment it's looking fine but I would suggest we have played it seems lower clubs vale rotherham peterborough Swindon in the cup,
we have luton as the first big test let's see how we fair if we win this away the man is on track.

But my fear is take out rubin through injury and salech and a few suspensions which would not be the manager's fault we would be struggling without these quality signings .
