About Luton Town

Luton were in the Premier League the season before last but suffered a double relegation to join us in this league.

They are the favourites to get promoted.

Club Connections

Mark McGuinness joined Luton last summer from us.

He is likely to start for them.

The Opposition's Manager

Matt Bloomfield was appointed Luton manager earlier this year.

He was at Wycombe before, and had them on course to get promoted from this league before he left to take the Luton job.

Opposition Dangerous Players

We know all about McGuinness.

Jerry Yates, who used to play for Swansea, will lead the line for them.

Referee

Waiting for the match referee to be confirmed.

Head To Head - last five meetings

We have lost each of the last five meetings.

The last time we beat them was in 2021.

This is our first real test of the season. Be very happy with a draw away from home. I think this game will really give an indication of how strong or not we are as a team

We'll have to be at our best to get a result there.
As a guess, I think we are due to leak a couple of goals, so it's a matter of whether we can score two or more.
2-2 maybe, but I fear a defeat for this one.

Could go either way to be honest would be happy with a point but suppose its these types we have to beat to build confidence, probably one of the strongest in the league so a good win would do us the world of good, if we can stay second all season Ill be happy, though tbh the atmosphere at away games is so much better than Championship :bluebird:

1-1.....away point here will be a decent result

I think we will struggle here and lose 1-0. They won't allow us to dominate possession like we have the last 2 games.

I'm normally a positive voice on here but I think we'll lose this one.

Luton are still my pick to win the league and I think they'll have too much.

As long as we don't get thrashed by 3+, I'll accept that.

The good thing about the late goal last night is it takes a bit of pressure off.

I said before last night that I'd have been satisfied with three points from those two away games.

So a draw on Saturday and I'll be very pleased.

But I see Luton winning.

I think Luton have been quite poor so far this season and this could be a good time to play them

They won't sit in and defend they will come at us which will play into our hands a bit, I feel we're stronger when we break fast rather than trying to break down a low block with 10 men behind the ball

I would be happy with a point but feel we could actually pinch this one I'm going 2-0 cardiff

If we start Turnbull and don’t bring on either Chambers or Willock then we have a good chance.
My fear is unlike Vale or Wimbledon, Luton have the ability to put away their chances.
Possession is one thing but one shot on target in over 90 minutes needs rectifying. Need to fecking shoot instead of turning and playing backwards for Trott to stand on the ball and kill any attacking momentum.
Salech had zero service or crosses. Whip the ball into the danger area and he’ll get on the end of it.

This game will be our biggest test to date - Both Clubs were fancied to go back up before the season started .

Lovely cross near the end to Robinson who headed over the bar from a few feet out, Salech would have loved to be on the end of that.

What will BBM do here then. Will he stick with the same back four that has done him proud recently. Or will he feel the pressure of leaving out his captain and bring Chambers back in. I agree with Ketteringblue, if it's the later we might lose this one. If he doesn't tinker with the defence I think we'll get at least draw.

This is the game where the players will need that extra bit of fight and that extra bit of motivation. Will be nice to see how BBM fairs in that department coz without those things, you won't be winning any promotions.
