Inside clubs has posted that a deal that was likely to be done this week has fallen through.
No info on who or why the deal fell through though.
Normally pretty good with info. I’m guessing it’s the osho deal maybe?

I still can't get my head around how Cardiff are able to keep deals so quiet. So often the first we know about a potential deal is on the day it's happening! Other clubs have rumours circling for weeks

Not good news.
I've been calm about the situation but not long to go now.

I expect Choo got involved

No need to worry.
We've got a whole bunch of "quality" players nobody else is interested in on trial this week apparently.

That’s my thinking. This year we are probably cutting back on wages a lot, which will now affect the players we can bring in.
People complain about lack of transfers probably don’t realise the lower wages, good luck bringing in experience on the cheap. Not much BBM can do, just Tan being Tan again.
Tue Aug 19, 2025 11:16 am
Hopefully we get experience before the window closes otherwise I'm sorry this squad with certain injuries we will struggle
Tue Aug 19, 2025 11:19 am
It could be that a player is now injured too ?
Who knows ?

We've already cut back more than enough though. 13 players have left and most of those were on high wages like Ramsey, Ralls, El Ghazi, Meite, Goutas and O'Dowda. That's a colossal amount of wages saved which more than offsets our drop down to League 1.
We can't keep making excuses for our hierarchy. We must be the only club in the football league still yet to sign an outfield player. If we can't use a small portion of the wages we've saved to bring in the 5 new signings I think we need, we have no chance mounting a promotion push. We received a few for O'Dowda too.
It's not good enough. It's totally embarrassing.

Surely, We must have cut at least £7m to £9m an yr off the wage bill with the players released or transferred?

We have to make signings.
I just hope this good start hasn’t fooled the fools at the top, that we have enough for a full season promotion push.
Injuries and suspensions will come, and if they come across the back line we are in trouble.

You may have to back up what you have been saying for weeks about quality signings,
you may have to put your own boots on as you are the only quality left on offer ,there how' s that for positivity budd.

Well you say that but how many players we signed this season?
Tue Aug 19, 2025 12:45 pm
I like what murphy is doing with the young lads but he is going to look a right plonker if his quality that he had earmarked has not materialised ,and we all want quality players in, not just murphy and it's essential "if" we are going for promotion, but i have heard nothing from the board about promotion unless I missed something but to just survive with suspensions and injuries we will be down to bare bones with possibly 17 moved out.

Maybe the deal that has fallen through is the Daland deal

Probably in the minority here but I'd be happy with this. I quite like Daland. Granted he was really poor last season after his injury problems but prior to that he was good. He's a ball playing central defender which is right up BBM's street. If we can get the Daland back who started last season, rather than the Daland that finished it, I hope the deal has fallen through.

That’s a fair point, Rog!
I was told two incomings were scuppered by Tan a couple of weeks ago, but nothing on any ‘possibilities’ this week
I still expect movement both ways (in and out) before the deadline
This is just a thought, but it could well be both a ‘
see how it goes’ and ‘
money saving’ trick to wait so long from the apparently ‘
supportive’ Tan, if BBM knows his targets?
Tue Aug 19, 2025 1:15 pm
I expect a few "fallen through" talk from BBM of incomings anyway like the fish that got away as I've said weeks ago we will get two unknown youngsters from somewhere then say the quality ones got away no doubt as that's what he paid for. Although he does not have a say if daland stays or goes as we know.

I'll admit that I'm much more worried about the transfer situation than I was a week ago.

The question is if we sign nobody except youngsters whats this say about our own academy players? Plus we need some experience to go with our own youngsters would it mean bbm is a tan yes man? Interesting till window closes which way this goes
Tue Aug 19, 2025 2:21 pm
He said that yet wont say who the player is? Lately the in the knows people seem to only know about a player a day before he comes at best, infact the goalkeeper was first broke by a foreign reporter before any of those accounts.
Anyway its cardiff we probably wont even sign anyone

Don' t see murphy as a yes man like riza was,
but then he has a better patter than riza had,
riza could hardly string a sentence together where as murphy does' nt take a breath and he may have been able to bat it off any questions etc .
Questions will be asked did he ever have? Or maybe tan has pulled the rug from under him,
which i personally would have to let the fans know in some form for or other as to not be blammed,
a bit like bulut did about not been backed and in the dark to what was going on.

We played some brilliant possession football on Saturday, and if we can bring the same energy tonight, it could really catch Pep’s eye and show others that BBM can be trusted with top player development. With just a week left in the window, people will definitely be watching, and another strong performance might be the key to landing a few more quality loan deals before deadline day.
Tue Aug 19, 2025 3:24 pm
As I, like many predicted, we will get a few if any in. Always go to the deadline and ‘ we couldn’t get it over the line. So why did Tan stop 2 coming in last week? He’s saved so much money with 11 going including big salaries Ralls, Ramsey and O’Dowda
Tue Aug 19, 2025 3:47 pm
Maybe Sam Cosgrove apparently on trial with us but now signed with a New Zealand club

Because he has no intention of spending any more money.
No transfers
No loans involving a loan fee or payment of wages.
No wages for free agents.
Tan expects promotion with what we have now.

Come on Ned time to get those boots back out ,
Even dai hunt has been called up for training with the lads ,
I’m thinking of asking if I can have a trial too .
Very very worrying this NO quality players in , never mind just bring the youth boys in

Don’t quite understand your comment. We’ve been naming between 7 and 11 academy players in the match day squads so far.
And we’re unbeaten. If he’s looking to add competition for places by any signings. Surely that’s going to help our lads compete even harder?
