We will get better

Sat Aug 16, 2025 5:20 pm

I said earlier in the week that it's going to take time to get our game right because it's a whole new style of play - BBM said the same.

The second half today showed we are improving.

And I honestly believe it will click at some point over a whole game.

When that happens, I think we'll fly.

Yea it takes time for players to learn the new system and tactics so the fact we are already getting positive results is great

I just hope the meltdown crew dont go in to over drive if we have one or 2 poorer results over the next few weeks and allow bbm the time to get his ideas and philosophys drummed in to the players heads

Totally agree. I can't remember the last time seeing a City team totally dominate a team with possession like today. It was controlled, measured and at times a real joy to watch. It's really exciting seeing a how BBMs coaching is evolving and improving the team. It's a long season so won't over react and say we are a promotion side yet but the signs are promising. Perhaps, the negativity doomsayers will have a night off tonight.

Yes we will & one of the most pleasing things for me was that we've stopped the passing it all the way back to the keeper, when we've had to go backwards it stopped half way & gone sideways while waiting for an opening to appear.

Spot on, Ned

It will certainly take some crass comment to argue with your positivity after today! :ayatollah:

It’s hard not to get too carried away, but that was one of the best performances I’ve seen in a while. After the Port Vale game I was left gob smacked, and felt like we were no different than last season. This though was a step up from the Peterborough game, which I was also impressed by. I hope this is a real start of something, and how the team is really coming together.

Let's hope we can start performing well away from home.
I think Cardiff City stadium can become a 'fortress' like a few seasons ago when we got promoted.

We did pass it across the back constantly at port vale because chambers was playing and slowing it down,
He did the same against Swindon
we played today like out first game without chambers so much better quicker.

I hope your right. Two very good home performances and a stinker away but we still picked a point up. How good have the opposition been that's the big question all near the bottom right now

Well we were talking about how we played today not against Port Vale.

My point being chambers played at portvale but did' nt today and that's why where so much better
, he was not trying to control the game by slowing it right down
today the chains where off and we could play more freely without him.

Rare that I agree with you but I think you're spot on here.

A good win today clean sheet but I'm still undecided riza beat Plymouth 5/6 nil last year when he first toom over and where we ended up So I've said somethings bbm I like some I'm undecided ill give 10/12/15 games so far one bad performance against port vale who are a terrible side onwards and upwards time will tell

I'm not getting carried away like most. However, I feel I've seen enough to announce we are on target to avoid relegation.

Chambers Is good at breaking up play and playing 10 yard passes. He’s not what we need in this system, I’ve said it before and il say it again, I’d be happy enough if he was sold on and replaced, swapping sides for lawlor has worked a treat, get a left back In and when Perry is back you’ve got him and bagan that can also cover cb.

I really hope your right In your positive way of thinking before the season started and I really hope I’m wrong about this manager and hopefully he is going to lead us to promotion , I can’t see it myself but yesterday’s 2nd half was very very exciting to see , let’s have a nice run of games like yesterday and there cud be a good feel factor coming bak at the stadium .
And also TAN OUT TAN OUT

Like I've said there will be more games like port Vale but the direction of travel is clear to see we just need a little patience and not get hysterical every time we have a poor result (which we will)

This team will be a force once it clicks in to gear and im confident we will beat someone 5 or 6 nil before long

Agree that we can only improve Some class goals yesterdayFor me the tap in by Colwill was the best for a few reason
The movement off the ball was excellent Same for our 2nd goal
Bu the fact Colwill was at the back post in marked would not have happened last year BBM has been talking about the tap ins and being at the right place and it showed in the third goal
