Negativity

Wed Aug 13, 2025 11:30 am

Take the ownership out of it. What’s with the negativity?

Have we looked amazing in the last 2 games? No. Have we been alright at times? Yes. Is there room for improvement? Yes.

Some areas we are poor and need investment but let’s see what we end up with come the end of the window.

At the end of the day we won last night, we’re unbeaten so far and we’ve won 2 of our home games. Something that has been very rare over the last few years. Enjoy it!

We can all notice our defence is not good. We need improvements and I’m sure BBM and staff are trying their hardest to get players it’s not a case of them not trying.

Don’t get me wrong I do think if we don’t bring anyone in then we can panic because this squad looks mid table but with a few weeks left let’s see what we end up with.

Really don’t understand why BBM is getting stick. The first game people were going on like he’s pep. Some games will
Be good some will be not so good.

You can see he’s clearly trying to change how we play and bring a different approach to the club.

I swear we could be winning 10-0 in games but people would moan about what colour socks we’re wearing.

That’s a great post and up there as the best in a long time.

We all want Tan out but let’s separate that from the football.

The same ones banging on and on. What’s it Sven calls them - the Negativos!?

Let’s give the manager a chance. He’s got a project here and he’s working with what he’s got so let’s support him, have some patience and see how it goes.

Re: Negativity

Agreed, shipping out something like seventeen players, only one player in, and we've still not lost a game.

He's assessing the squad and taking time to get the right players, not a player. I'm happy with the way it's going. We need to be patient and give him a chance.

Re: Negativity

Wed Aug 13, 2025 12:21 pm

Agreed people are very OTT on here, but I think its fair to be concerned with the lack of links with incomings when we have let so many go.

Re: Negativity

Wed Aug 13, 2025 12:22 pm

Mainly to do with no experience being signed. Although I agree we need some, and some quality. We are unbeaten and some just can’t get over that because of the lack of signings. Premier league kicks off and squads will be submitted soon, we will then see the quality being signed.

It’s about being patient I’m sure BBM will get the players he wants and will improve the current players we have.

3 games in and still learning to play good football rather than the crap we endured last season. It will take time to transition and get perfected.

Have some faith, if it doesn’t happen then I will be as frustrated as the next fan but defo need to let BBM get it drilled in.

This interview with Holloway shows what he thought last night. A very interesting take on what he thinks of our manager https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/cy7y5je7yn4t

Uh Port Vale was amazing. That sentence alone nullifies this thread. Was it you Ned that made this a sticky?

Re: Negativity

Unbeaten in 3 , shipping the dead wood out , going for youth , I think things are looking up , most people i speak to are enjoying it atm .

Re: Negativity

Wed Aug 13, 2025 1:48 pm

Jury still out for me I'm not panicking I'm not asking for manager to leave what I will say riza when he took over from bulat won 3 drew 2 of the first 5 games that he took over and we know how that turned out I will wait game three now done undefeated . after 10 games I will access him somethings I like somethings I don't about him so far so I'm undecided

It’s Fans honest beliefs and Views on how all These years have got worse and worse .

On the field I will Judge after 10-12 games under Murphy.

Off The Field it’s 100% proven why we are so fed up and Negative.

I don't think you can blame any of the managers, nobody has received any sort of financial backing. They've all been told to cut back and cut back while the club talks about promotion battles. The truth is this is a youth team with a few holdovers from a relegation championship side and BBM will have to perform a miracle to get us up. We've beaten Peterborough who fielded a team as young as ours with less talent (who are among the bookies favourites for the drop) and a very fortunate draw with Port Vale, who I don't see being up the top either. It's not negative to be realistic if we turn some promotion challengers over and have a nice points haul in a month or so it's a different story.

Fair to be concerned, of course.

But the countless threads about it with people getting hysterical is not fair.

The thing is we are also in the early stages of this process with the new style.

Once it clicks then we will fly I think, and I still strongly believe we will end the season in the top six.

Top post by OP.

The match thread was embarassing last night with negativity and anxiety.

Little to no mention on this whole forum of Rubins SECOND goal of the season contender free kick, but plenty of moans about 3 absolute waste of money leaving the club. Rubin is the easy target though, isnt he?

"Support the team, not the regime" was the motto. Hmmmm

Great post. Spot on.

Have said this for a while now. It’s going to be hard to watch at first but we will get better.

Some experience and some quality and we will be up there definitely.

Annis I agree with you with the off-field problems, it’s been the case for years.

We have a manager proven with young players, and playing good football. It will take a few more weeks before we get to where we need to be.

What are you thought on the last 3 games?? Unbeaten, not playing the best I know but still getting points….do you think it’s fair for the negativity against players?

I think we will only get better once the manager drills his philosophy into the players. And I agree with you we need some leaders with experience but also some quality too and we will be right up there.

The negativity I’m seeing is nothing to do with the owners but more so about BBM and start to the season.

Still is for me but as I said I wasn't able to watch the game here so I have no view on how we played, we won so there's that.

Re: Negativity

Great post.

The whole team are adapting to a whole new style of football which we will much prefer when done right.

It is not going to happen overnight and we will have hiccups.

I’m looking forward to the team continuing to adapt and eventually the football style will be like breathing to the players. I think we will be in for an exciting season.

All we need is some new players to come and cover or improve the 11 and we are sorted.

This team has experience. Rubin, Bagan, Chambers, Wintle, Davies, Robinson, Robertson, Turnbull, Willock, Tanner - all have plenty of league experience now. Championship is just as physical and if anything, harder with the talent in some of the teams.

Let’s just see end of August how the window looks, if we don’t bring anyone in, target the board and not the team/manager.

Ashfords had quite a few games too, and Salech. I would like an experienced, or strong highly rated Centre half as a priority, we are short there now, but i'm sure that is being addressed.

Mark, Ian Holloway has a lot of time for the Bluebirds and their supporters; and he was right! We looked class for most of the first half before fading a little after some changes!

Glass half full or half empty? :?

Half full for me and most others! :ayatollah:

Re: Negativity

Everyone is virtually saying the same all we need is a few new players

And that’s what is upsetting the fans, well the majority including myself

Re: Negativity

Wed Aug 13, 2025 5:30 pm

I thought he spoke very well Chris. He's been around a long time and if he says he hasn't come up against that before, then BBM is clearly going in the right direction.

I can't see too much to be negative about on the pitch to be honest.

The players will take time to adapt to the system and we as supporters will also take time adapting to watching this style. But if the results continue, I'll keep drinking all my beer and not leaving my pint half full or half empty

This nothing to be positive about :

Saw BBM's post match comments. Last few moments " we need quality but I really dont know who we'll get" I believe he has been sold down the river by Tan, Dalman and Choo....

What's new with these, but this has to be the worse transfer window for years but don' t be negative, just stay on the merry-go-round and stop been negative despite worrying which direction your club is going in .

I think whoever heard that obviously misheard.

What he said was "we need quality and I'm confident we'll get it before the end of the window, but I don't know when."

Then he was asked if it would be before the Thursday press conference and he said:

"No I don't think before Thursday."

Just to clear things up because whoever said that he said that, has misheard.

Re: Negativity

I would also say there is plenty to be positive about.

We have four points from the first two games. Decent start.

We're in the next round of the cup.

We have some quality players that every other team in this league would kill for.

The vast majority of fans are excited about this manager.

But then I guess some people don't go looking for the positives, just the negatives.
