I sort of understood the decision to extend his contract at the time because there was a risk of losing him for nothing, but now it has to be said that maybe it would have been better to just lose him for nothing.

I was shocked another League One club even came in for him, thought he'd have to go down to League Two to get a loan.

Going to be impossible to move him on permanently before his contract ends.
