I’m amazed Cardiff haven’t targeted experienced players. It’s a quality they’re crying out for. Grant Hanley joined Hibs a couple of days ago, maybe Barry Bannan was available at one stage. Stuart Armstrong, Liam Cooper, Ben Mee, Craig Dawson and Tom Lawrence are all free agents or is it they won’t pay the wages?

A lack of pace, an inability to absorb pressure and a confidence crisis. Cardiff were at their worst against Port Vale, which was as concerning as Saturday was encouraging. It’s the same group of players as last season, so we’ll now find out whether a leopard can change its spots

We signed experienced players last year and previous years we thought would do a job and look how they turned out.

Meite - awful
Al Ghazi - awful
Collins - awful
Willock - awful
Sawyers - awful
Ojo - awful

Damned if they do damned if they don’t comes to mind.

Ironically some of the players released have done or are still doing a good job in the championship. All players we were happy to lose. Adams, Brown, Harris, Vaulks, Poole.

What do we actually know?

The same people who brought Salech in. The same people who would making the decisions now.

What’s your point?

Are people forgetting a deal is probably still on the table, they have just pushed the offer out of the public domain. If I was in the process of striking a transaction, then I’d want to spend as little money as possible on the current outgoing business

That system has been ripped apart.

There’s been numerous systems with Tan signing the check where good signings have been made and shite signings have been made.

What we need is a couple of no nonsense donkeys who take no prisoners straight from Barry Beach ! If they don’t kick the opposition they can kick our own group of overrated mumpties

I 100% agree

But certain posters believe we don’t need to add and will go up anyway Despite BBM Suing we need and is bringing in up to 4 quality players

Re: I’m amazed Cardiff haven’t targeted experienced players.

Sat Aug 09, 2025 2:22 pm

We 100% need a no nonsense cb a Lb, a strong mobile number 6 and an out an out fast winger, hopefully bbm is allowed to bring these in before the window slams shut

Eboue Adams. Will Vaulks.

We didn’t want either.

Sat Aug 09, 2025 5:34 pm

probably trying behind the scenes
but fans won't get the insight unless the press knows
so who knows
a few potentially hidden gem players who are free agents at the moment
we are missing someone like gunnarsson and have been ever since he left us

Sun Aug 10, 2025 7:24 am

What worries me is the board think we don’t need much players etc, didn’t dalman say last year after our signings we made we were aiming for the premiership?just shows how far our board are off with football, they miles behind in every department our board, all well and good putting the youngsters but we need experienced players who’ve been there done it etc

Inability to absorb pressure?

Remind me how many goals from open play we have conceded this season?

Don’t forget ‘crisis of confidence’ too, Neil!

It just didn’t work out on the day; but we were resolute at the back and not without effort, if not quality, going forward :ayatollah:

We lacked physicality, pace last season and as of right now

Sun Aug 10, 2025 2:15 pm

We lacked physicality, pace last season and as of right now BBM has been given ZERO backing to address that.

If we don’t sign some physicality and even pace expect more results like last Tuesday - Tuesday was a continuation from last season.

Tanner has pace
Ashford has pace
Willock has pace
Kpakio has pace

What was Tuesday?

All these buzz words but pace isn’t any good without something at the end of it.

We have dropped a league, the players we lost were bit part players and those coming in are young players who last week were being raved out.

You are the epitome of over reaction to one result. Bet you couldn’t wait to get on here to moan.

All free agents for a reason, how many time have we brought in players on decent wages and just turn out to be useless money grabbing twats. In youth I trust let's go in different direction everything else as failed.
