On reflection after a really disappointing performance, it really emphasised the importance of the home games this season. With the fans behind them, we’ve seen how this team can play. We can bully sides with our pace and intensity. Away from home in unfamiliar stadiums with unknown players, we are still lacking confidence. That’s something BBM will have seen and something the players, particularly senior players, will know and see.
I thought Kpakio had another really good showing given his age and experience, great from him. For all the flack Willock is getting, he was making good runs and getting into good areas. Terrible final product though but that’s an easy fix (you’d hope). Same could be said for Tanner. Particularly disappointing from him given he signed a new contract this week. He’ll feel that disappointment too. He wants to do well.
I’m undecided about the debutant but a clean sheet is a clean sheet, even if we were lucky with the two disallowed goals.
Fish did well and the substitutes generally made a positive impact on the game.
Both Robinson and Salech struggled with poor service, however I thought the PV CB did a good job on Salech. He’ll have to get used to being roughed up in this league.
PV home kit very nice. Nice to see a shirt without a main sponsor for a change.
Onwards and upwards. We remain unbeaten.

I was concerned by Willock last night but not just for his end product. It is his desire without the ball!
When he came on against Peterborough he won’t do the press. Last night was the same. On top of that he didn’t track back with their full back which almost cost us a goal twice in the first half. He is a concern and I am surprised he started.

I agree.
I just think at away games, with different pitch sizes and wind blowing through the smaller stadiums, we would do well in the "warm up" to practice crosses into the box, and get it right, so its not trial and error during match time.

Yeah agree his defensive tracking almost cost us a goal allowing their winger in behind on our left hand side. For me he’s a Josh Murphy type player. Capable of a lot offensively but just not interested defensively. Difference being he hasn’t proven his Josh Murphy offensive abilities yet! I still think there’s a player in there with Willock. I think he needs a lot of love and an arm around. Confidence seemingly a big thing for him. Seems a quiet lad. Ramsay started him for all three of the fixtures he managed and he wouldn’t have started him if he hadn’t seen it in training. Hope it comes out on the pitch sooner than later.

Sensible suggestions not welcome here....

Paul, I agree with you here!
I mentioned in the Match Thread that the pitch looked narrower than normal by about 2 metres either side, as the faint lines of the previous were visible behind the Assistant Referees
We may see that a lot away this season, as teams try to contain our wingers and therefore starve Salech of the balls he needs
I believe BBM will sort it out, but as someone else said, home form is going to be crucial this season
