Was there really booing at final whistle?

Fri Aug 08, 2025 7:38 am

I did not go nor watch it on TV due to work commitments .. reading on twitter that some fans boo’d at final whistle ?
Surely not.. I get you pay your money you have the right but really.. 2nd game in and with a young team..
come on our fan base should be better than that…
every team are going to raise their game 100% against us.. we are the major scalp..
Hats off to those that travelled.. but not to those that booed.

I thought the fans gave the players a good reception at the end of the game after a really poor performance. Not a single shot on target. I'll be honest I didn't boo but I didn't clap either.

I travelled but did' nt boo but you have to be there physically to feel it,
it was a horror show, we where bossed for 90 minutes no pressure, tactics like bulut slow out from the back,
i blame chambers coming in ,he slows the game down ,wintle got pressed 2 man marking on salech wingers both not in the game.

I personally have no problem with booing at all a lot of prem teams do it this tells the players and manager they are not happy don' t please do it again.
Last night was like a bulut team whether he tried been more defensive, but it back fired big time,
we have to realise we are every teams cup final this season end of,

we have get this into our heads we are not going to walk over any team we have to fight for every point this season .

Good post and it’s brought more than a few on here down to earth.

We need new signings and not just youngsters.

I’m still confident we’ll do well this year though.

It's been mentioned before, we lack the physical side to the game at this level.
Hopefully, the manager recognises the style of player we need to improve our chances of a promotion push.
Otherwise, for me, it could be a mid table slog of win one, draw one and lose one!

Me and my son were at the game and we couldn’t believe the booing by some idiots at the end. It’s the same old lazy fixated comments from people who thrive on negativity.
Yes we didn’t play well, especially deliveries from the flanks, and yes, we need to add some steel but it’s an away point.
After the euphoria of the first game it beggars belief that just 90 mins later some of our fans, albeit a very small minority, only want to shout mindless abuse.

Disagree
the players and manager need to know from the start performances like that will get what they deserve .
The manager never changed tactics 2nd half so did he think the 1st was acceptable?
The players never changed either,we have pussy footed around this season after season the players and manager need to know we where bossed for 96 minutes not acceptable for me .

I wouldn't have booed if I was there.

But won't have a go that those that did. They pay their money and are entitled to put their view across after a very poor performance.

I totally agree, performances like that should not be accepted by fans I've seen the fans turn a few times over the last couple of seasons and they had every right too. The support at port vale was amazing and the team didn't turn up.

We have been here to many times last year was by far the worse and we don' t want to do it all again how many y fans on this forum complained that the team where not pulling there weight did' nt looked bothered etc but there was apathy from the fans a shrug of the shoulders and then moan at fans that booed a shite performance.

I never boo my side however crap they are.

Another feature of modern life I would prefer wasn’t there.

A large proportion of the fans there booed, especially near me.
