Brian Barry-Murphy full quotes after the game:
Q. Clean sheet, a point on the road. Do you take that?
Definitely. Obviously there were large parts of the performance that we'd want to be better, especially with an amazing traveling support.
But overall we've no complains about the result of the game because to be honest with you, we were lucky to get a point.
Q. What needs to get better?
Our positioning was wrong a lot in the first half. As such, our approach became quite rushed and our opponents had good pressure. We didn't eliminate that pressure by going slightly longer.
Our composure in wide areas wasn't good. That's not just the wide players, that's the whole team. We tended to rush one side and not switch play in effectively.
Our final cross wasn't at a high enough level.
Q. Final ball wasn't quite there?
On Saturday we were really effective at getting past the opponent's last line. Today we got to the last line our play became predictable.
Q. Sort of game you can expect in this league?
On Saturday we made mistakes next to our own goal but got away with it because Matt made a save or we played in a way that we created enough to score two goals.
Tonight I suppose you could say we got away with it because we got a point but there was too much defensive goal mouth action for my liking. It gives us a lot to improve.
Q. What aspects of the game did please you?
The players made good blocks to preserve Nathan's clean sheet on his debut.
The players have shown a lot of humility since the day I've come in so there's no major dramas from me, it's my job to reinforce the way we want to play.
Q. Nathan Trott's performance?
The players put their bodies on the line to make blocks. For him to have that and keep his clean sheet will be really good for him.
Q. Dylan Lawlor came off?
No he had a tight hamstring at half and I was a little bit concerned. I saw him stretching early in the second half and that's a risk I didn't want to take.
Q. Anything more on transfers?
Nothing, not a word from me. It's an ongoing process - the more comments I've made in the last two weeks, the worse I've sounded. So I don't think I'm going to comment on it.
Q. Will the game stand you in good stead for future games?
Absolutely, the test Port Vale provided was in some ways similar to Notts County. We had some difficulties at Notts County in pre season which was the first game in front of an crowd in England. So to face some of the same situations today is important to understand. It's my job to provide the players with the solutions.

bit worrying how he answered the transfers question
I might be reading it wrong but it sounds like he's been told not to say we are adding players

Well if nobody's comes in and 14 out the protests will begin towards our dick head of an owner.
