" Nathan Trott "

Don't want to jinx it for the second half, but can see why he was signed now.

Looks very assured and has had a go at the defenders a couple of times.

Good first half and our best player in what was a poor half.

seen a video someone linked on here and he looked good
his distribution seems to be a lot better than our other keepers
I can see why bbm was keen to sign him

Looks good in fairness

Done okay, but he shouldn't be hoofing long balls up to Robinson who is up against giant centre backs.

No difference to any other keeper can't pass to a blue shirt unless it's in there own area tbh.

Don’t be daft, he had a great game

Good signing fair play

He worried me in the first half, taking unnecessary risks dribbling around players. He took too long to pass it out and put us under pressure.

Second half he was better, not taking risks, kicking long when he had no options. You can see he's been brought in to play out from the back. He can kick with both feet, but it won't surprise me if overdoes things and drops one or two clangers from trying to be too clever.

I'm undecided on him and Turner should never have been dropped.

I agree I’m not sure how posters can say he had a great game. He didn’t do anything except catch the ball.

That doesn’t mean he had a bad game of course but let’s wait and see.

I agree about Turner also.

Agreed.

Over the 2x 90mins, I'm more confident in Turner as it stands. Nothing stood out for me last night for Trott; not having a dig at Trott, more so that Turner had a good game and made some good saves and decisions.

Port vale were a poor side league 2 at least if they wee better they would of won that game trott didn't make a save because there finishing was awful lucky enough for us trott will be testes by better teams I thought fish when he came on for lawlor made our defense better with his physical presence
He battled much better than lawlor for me lawlors a prospect but needs to build himself up more so from now it's either fish or darland drop chambers from centre back he ain't one he's better in midfield on last seasons viewing thoughts?

Jury’s still out for me but there were a few poor kicks/miss kicks into touch. Played cute a few times and dummied the charging attacker with a Cruyff turn. Looks good, but it’ll result in a few silly goals over the season.

Clean sheet is a clean sheet though.

Stand by what I said about Trott.

Good with his feet and did everything else he had to do well.

Right decision to play him ahead of Turner in the end.

Yeah I’m an advocate of not changing a winning team unless a player has performed really badly.

Turner obviously didn’t come into that category.

I remember Ole loved that. MOM, score a hat trick or whatever, next game dropped
I’m not saying BBM is like that.

Hopefully Trott becomes a decent no.1 for us

I felt he had all the attempts on goal well covered to make a save if needed. He did well for me.

You can see he is schooled in the modern goalie way, where your required to be an extra defender come sweeper at times , and possess ball at feet skills .

Why was it a good decision? Turner did nothing wrong, and Trott was lucky on several occasions. On corners, he was often out of position when the Port Vale players got their headers away — it was only their poor finishing that spared him.

Every shot / header that PV had was blocked and the keeper had them covered if they weren’t blocked. He would have saved Chanbers’ header if it had been going inside the post too.
