Vaguely remember the last time City played up there..it was a while ago and some of the older ones will remember it. I think the game was called off. After travelling most of the day, the game was called off shortly before kick off?. Like I said it was over two decades ago and my memory is sketchy!

Yeah, I remember that trip well it was a very late call. I think that was one of the last league games, though we’ve played them in the League Cup since.

In the rearranged game we beat them and I can remember it was the first time I heard the Peter Thorne is magic chant :ayatollah:

I think Gavin Gordon got a goal as well and he didn't get many.

They all tend to stick out, but Bolton (FA Cup), Huddersfield, Vale, and Peterborough are the ones that really stand out in the memory turning up only for the game to be postponed. :banghead:

Luton was the one I remember in the early seventies. I was only young- still in school - and went on the football special. BR said if we made our way to London to watch another game we could use our tickets on the train back from Paddington. About 100 of us went to Spurs v Everton. We got their late. I stood on the shelf but the older lads- Frankie, Peggy and that crew probably, teamed up with the surprisingly few Everton fans who were getting a bit of a pasting behind the goal. The game was on the Big Match and seem to recall the scrap that followed being commented on by his Brian Moore in his commentary.

Any of the older ones on this site remember that?
