The players are all excited:

Tue Aug 05, 2025 10:23 am

Heard this today.

Isaak Davies has been saying to his friends that this is the first time for a long time that the whole club has been this excited about working with a manager.

Everyone has never felt better about it since promotion to Premier League.

Obviously that excitement has to be turned to success but very good to hear :bluebird:

As you've just stated it's about results, come the end of August if we have picked up around 14 out of 18 points then we are really going in the right direction.

Ned,

That’s exactly what is being said amongst the players, long may it continue :bluebird:

Great first result but early days yet, I think any injuries will have a detrimental effect on how we play..fingers crossed though. :bluebird:

Yes take Rubin out of the team and we will look to who to replace him and it depends on what murphy has coming in transfer wise.

I think anyone who would have watched us against Peterborough would have been astounded at the exciting football we were playing. It was great to see and I hope it continues.

This is great the hear.

Regardless of all the off the field sh!t (which never seems to go away), the players are all on board with BBM.

It seems he's bought some discipline and organisation. Something that was severely lacking with Bully and the Rizler.

Get a few long overdue reinforcements in now and we'll be flying hopefully.

Robertson is the only one for me that might still leave. I think him and BBM must have clashed in the past. All is not quite right with them pair.

And that was without Chambers, Turnbull, Robertson, Robinson or Ng in the starting line up. Add in a couple of decent loan signings and we have a very strong squad for this league.

Sorry but I do not share this excitement one bit.

While Tan remains in place I see this club going nowhere. Even if it has a good season whats the point of it as Tan will not do anything to go forward. As for the football on the pitch I'm reading wait till NG, Robertson and Chamberrs come back. They are the idiots that put us here so why should I get excited about their returns?

I want to see sonething good happen before I will get excited.

Maybe he wont need to do anything if we continue to play like that, cant see Ng replacing Kpakio to be honest so think he will be off loaded or just a squad player. I tend to ignore the Tan stuff and just focus on now what seems to be a positive brand of footy...Only another 45 games to go :occasion5:

Thats how I see it as well. It was a great win, with entertaining football on the weekend, but we have a long, long way to go. Tan & Dalman have no interest in investing, they’re just hoping the youth will get us up. Yes Sunderland were a great example, but it doesn’t mean we will do the same thing. Like you said the more experienced players coming back in are the ones that were truly awful and got us in this mess last season. There’s so many things still wrong with the club and that’s down to the board. The only reason I see there optimism within the players, is because the youth will get more opportunities, mainly because there’s no other option.

No reason why fans and players alike shouldn't be upbeat after Saturdays performance with such a young team, but perhaps we should wait until at least August is out before we can get some idea on how our season may pan out.

By then, we will also know whether we have any additional 'quality' added to the squad.

Well yes they are now getting their chance. That is the good thing about all of this. Those senoiors in the squad will now need to work of a living.

Yes you’re right, that’s the one shining light.

I get where you’re coming from with Tan and taking us forward 100% but for me I can separate the actual games from the owner.

I think most fans who go to matches can also just concentrate on the games. That’ll become more apparent IF we are winning and battling for promotion I think

This is my opinion too.

I don't like that Tan owns the club but when I'm in the stadium, my sole focus is backing the team.

I noticed the vast majority walked out of CCS feeling joyful on Saturday when I'm sure nearly all of them want Tan out.

Exactly most people work all week etc for peanuts compared to these and they get paid handsomely for doing a job they love. While we go to watch the game/team we love. So sometimes the circus needs to be forgotten and the beautiful game when it's beautiful like Saturday was. Gives us a lift and gets us through work and other issues while we look forward to the next game for a change. Spent most of last season arguing with myself if I really wanted to go down and watch half of the time. So let's enjoy the highs when we can

Agreed and the longer the season goes on with injuries and suspensions it's squad depth and quality that becomes far more important than the opening day eleven.

My only concern is strength of opposition, the bookies had Peterborough quite high on the list of teams, by the end of the month we should have played a decent mix of teams
