First The Majority of us want to see Our Team full of local Talent and have always stated that.
But we have always argued that age does not matter if your good enough, it’s all bollox that they are to young at 17,18,19 & 20 years old.

as you know I've been a big advocate of the academy it took a bit of bashing on here but I said about a decade ago that the time investment was being made and the 10 year olds of the day back then would be the future and ive been proven correct, the facility are 1st class around south wales now .

Agree with the statement if you are good enough you are old enough. When I first watched the City as a very young boy we beat Middlesbrough 4-3 away. Our two strikers that day were John Toshack and George Johnston who got 2 each. Toshack was 16 and Johnstone was 18 !! And this was against a bully of a centre half - Dickie Rookes for those old enough to remember.
(We sold Johnstone to Arsenal not long after which was a shame as the two of them could have formed a famous partnership - though we probably wouldn't have bought Brian Clark - every cloud)

15 yrs we have had to wait Wez, as for years it’s been run down.
Thankfully we have the best youngsters now from all over Wales coming to us and they want to come to us

Two things shocked me this week.
I was shocked that Rubin was made vice captain.
I was also shocked at how young the team was yesterday, putting a team like that out takes balls. Especially with Turner in goal, took us all but surprise. I was worried when I saw the team selection.
But on the showing yesterday, both were the right decisions. Fair play.

It's a 46 game season That's why we need new players

And four are coming in.
That's the right squad size then, we don't want a squad too big because that's when players get unhappy.

A really proud moment seeing that team sheet and the performances that followed, it’s what club football should be, top heavy with local players. I loved it.
It was poor opponent granted. and they could have easily got a breakaway second and the vibe would have been very different.
But thanks to BBM who I do remain unsure of and those wonderful youngsters it gave me a shot in the arm that I needed. A wonderful break from the draining head space ruling ownership soap opera that I have over invested in. Tan/Dalman/Choo out yes, but background to football and repairing fan unity. Even if Tan is putting yesterday’s win down to him!!!
Onwards and upwards

We have 4 out and out CB's plus 2 full backs that can double up.
We have an entire midfield 3 that didn't play yesterday (or much) that would do a job in the championship (Robertson king and turbull).
We have a player that apparently can cover everywhere and played loads of positions last season i. League 1 (Joel). Wide .number 10. Cm. And apparently RB
We have 2 of the best, if not the best strikers in the league.
We do need strengthening. LB and wings then if we sell any - support there.
But this is already a strong squad for a hard league 1 campaign.

Yes you can say we have 4 CB's. My worry is that in this division, most opposing sides will have a bully of a CF in their team. I'm not sure that any of the 4 CB's are able to cope with that physicality. We need someone in the Shaun Morrison mould to look after (sort out) that type of player.

I've been advancate for experience and at times yesterday it showed especially under pressure I still believe abit of experience at the back big bruising centre half that's played this league chambers? Isn't a centre half so it's either full back or defensive midfield thoughts?

Joel was the man of the match for me, boy did not stop from start to finish

Sticking my neck out here with all the emotions about but I feel we have enough for mid table and a season to prepare for a push up next season.

Biggest shock for me was 1) Joel got a start and 2) how tenacious he was.
Feels like a Ralls-type dogger which we've been screaming out for. I also liked how he was demanding better passes and others to keep working.
I am very excited for Joel.

Great memories and I remember that era but didn't we get Bobby Brown in as replacement for Johnston? I remember Dickie Rookes, a big huge b*stard and if he said it's Thursday then it's Thursday. Not long after that Boro came to NP and won 4-3 after being 3-1 down at one stage.

They made a massive impact too, Colwill and Kpakio with the goals Turner with two saves to keep the win.
