VOTE: MAN of the MATCH v Peterborough (Home)

Sat Aug 02, 2025 6:18 pm

Apologies for late post, but here’s your chance to vote for your Man of the Match v Peterborough (home @ the CCS Sat 2nd August 2025)

A more than decent display and start to the season. For me, the youngsters showed their mettle, the Colwill brothers, Tanner, Turner in goal, and Kpakio at the back, were superb!

Ryan Wintle ran the show in midfield, and (for me) the only disappointment was Cian Ashford, who just looked out of sorts from the start

My choice was Kpakio. Who was yours? :ayatollah:

Joel Colwill for me, he was everywhere today.

Kpakio, Rubin Colwill, Turner and Wintle also all excellent.

Clicked J Colwill when I meant to click R. Colwill.

Can it be changed if possible, apologies & thanks.

Rubin. That free kick is up there with anything hit in that stadium. Could have jad a hat trick.

Captain of a home win.

Get behind him!

Joe colwill for me Robertson or turnbull should not be automatic, he got stuck in you don' t see that from turnbull ot Robertson sliding tackles from Joe and a lovely back step over for Tanner .
Hope he keeps his place at the vale if he flags sub him but would not want to change for turnbull, he has done nothing since he left scotland and Robertson is waiting for pompey to bid for him.

Rubin followed by Wintle.

Rubin didn’t stop today, best performance he’s given as a team player, and in his defence he played like a leader today.

He lead by example and inspired others to keep going. Today surprised me and long may that continue.

Special mention for Joel, Tanner and Wintle as well

No, but I’ll take it into account at the end :ayatollah:

I knew Rubin would get it he was good but Wintle was outstanding today.

I was never a fan but maybe this is his level, he made us tick today and made some vital interceptions late on.

I couldn't believe my eyes today as I have never seen Rubin win so many headers as he did today. I thought he was excellent he chasing around closing their players down right to the end, he looks a lot fitter than I have ever seen him. Also his brother was excellent as was Wintle. I thought Kpakio was all over the place for most of the first half but was much better 2nd half not including his fantastic goal. I don't know if someone had a quiet word with him at half time to settle him down, if they did it worked a treat. Really pleased with the result and the performance after what we had to witness last season, long may it continue.

Rubin for me but it’s great that there’s quite a few candidates after an impressive performance.

Got to give a mention to Joel though for his energy and box to box style.

Ruben, with an early goal of the season contender and then Turner, who kept the win for us, wintle was great too, as were most of the team.

Could of easily Been out of 4 or 5 yesterday but went for young kpakio myself thought he was outstanding in defence and helping in attack and what a cracking strike nearly as good as colwill goal

Rubin, but having watched extended highlights this morning, I don't think Joel Colwill was too far behind his brother.

All the names mentioned were excellent. Best I’ve seen Ruben play since the first 2 riza games when he ran the show. Joel was outstanding and ran himself to the ground.

But for me wintle was quality. He gave those players the platform to thrive on.
If he plays like that all season the team will have an easy ride.
He consistently picked great positions to take pressure off defence or link the attack. Nice range of passing and composed all game.

Watching the team yesterday was night and day compared to last year. What is clear is everyone knew their role in the team and what they should be doing and the cohesion is only likely to get better. For Wintle he knows exactly what is expected of him to break up play be the anchor at the base of midfield

Should have had a hatrick. His final product was off. Brilliant strike for the free kick but left at least two goals out there. Sales should’ve scored his header too. Kpakio MOTM for me. As a youngster who scored the winner, thought he was brilliant.

Over the last couple of years I've seen Rubin get countless votes on here for MOTM and thought, while clearly talented he was lightweight aimless and lazy. I thought BBMs vice captain decision was crazy. That all changed yesterday I've seen good performances from him before but he also worked his socks off, we will win a lot of games this year if he plays like that. Head and shoulders in this league
