MY VIEW: ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT GOALS BY CARDIFF AND A VERY ENTERTAINING GAME WITH CARDIFF DESERVEDLY GETTING THE 3PTS:

Crowd: 19,615

Including 1,119 Posh Fans

Very enjoyable:

City attacked and defended well.

Great 3pts.

Defended well in last 10mins.

Cardiff City today started their League 1 Campaign against Peterborough United.

Posh finished last season 18th in League 1.

FIRST-HALF: Unbelievable Virtually one attack by Posh and they score:

Cardiff 10 Shots

Posh 2 shots

Cardiff were in total control for 30mins.

Then Posh had a good attack and Fish brought down a Posh player, lucky not to be sent off.

33rd min: Posh took the lead and it was Bradley Ihionvien who coolly slotted home from the penalty spot. 0-1

42nd min: Salech great header ,Great save.

SECOND-HALF: GOAL! Cardiff City 1-1 Peterborough United (R. Colwill 48)
Goal! Rubin stunner!
25 yards out, top corner. What a free-kick

GOAL! Cardiff City 2-1 Peterborough United (Kpakio 60)
Goal! Another stunner!
Bagan's cross finds Tanner on the far side and he lays off Kpakio. The teenager whips it over Bilokapic, who tips it on to the underside of the bar and in!

77mins: 77 - Double change: Salech and Ashford come off. Willock and Robinson replace them.

92nd min:
Eli and Isaak come on for Ollie Tanner and Joel Colwill.

CARDIFF CITY 2 PETERBOROUGH UNITED 1

H-T 0-1

Cardiff City: Turner; Kpakio, Lawlor, Fish, Bagan; Wintle, J. Colwill, R. Colwill; Tanner, Salech, Ashford.

Subs: Alnwick, Daland, Mafico, King, Willock, Davies, Robinson.

Good start buy I'm worried about our defender's need abit of experience in there for me forward line looks really good couple of times our defender's didn't clear but despite that a good start at home a wins a win

Was a good performance from a young team, few things didnt quite work out and we could of scored more but it was a positive sign.

Glad to see players moving and different passes.

Last few seasons we have been so one dimensional

Brilliant, we're actually playing proper football again and in a good way :ayatollah:

I thought it was a very good effort by a young team. Wintle was man of the match for me. A calm head to settle things down and tidy it up

Absolutely quality, its the first time I've gone and came out really happy so many players played very good! Wintle for me was solid and my man of the match he did his job and more! Tanner could of had 2 or 3 assist if it wasn't for the keeper he did some great saves!

The reff ??? What can I say i thought the championship was bad not in a million years was that a pen and he only had cards for us Absolutely shite.

But the news that the dictator doesn't want to leave still has put a very bitter taste in my mouth!! What is the idiot waiting for ? Hes not welcome

Good win should have been more although not crossing in to the box I don't know how many times annoyed the f**k out of me although you could see why Peterborough was 18th last season so I'm not knocking 50 off the wrist yet a wins a win with a young side so a bonus today. The ref was appalling imo to :bluescarf:

Yeah I agree with this. Peterborough are not a good side.

They'll probably stay up because the manager knows the league, but it was far too easy for us to get through them at times.

But I'm happy, we dominated and needed a win to start.

This is taken from the BBC website & we can only hope he does as well as Zaha going forward.

Nice stat here from our friends at Opta.,

18y 69d - Cardiff City's Ronan Kpakio is the youngest player to score in a team's opening EFL game of a season since Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha (17y 270d) against Leicester City in 2010-11. Future.

That was a good game but more in the sense a little confident that we will actually do something this year under a manager who seems to know what hes doing, the jacks game was special within a absolutely horrific season

I thought the last 10 mins was very poor in keeping possession and put us under unnecessary pressure. I lost count the number of times we had the ball and gave it away to the opposition.

Great start, improvements still needed, we struggled at the CB positions, Both Colwill brothers & Wintle were great, last 15 minutes we run out of steam and panicked slightly, But a win is a win and let's build on this with loads of confidence, overall very pleased.

Yes my thoughts also. The pressure we were under was completely self inflicted.

What was Willock trying to do in the last few minutes dribbling out of the box show boating by running the sole of his boot over the top of the ball? ffs

Hopefully we’ll improve defensively as the games go by.
