A true Hero.

Fought and hospitalsed after the battle of the Somme (WW1) with shrapnel in his leg.

Fought back to rehabilitation and then back to the football.

Then he and the team got us to wembley FA cup Twice and division champions, what a hero

Hard to beleive it now but when we beat Arsenal 1-0 in 1927 we were favourites to win !!!!

Can we get those great times back, of course we can with the right owners and set up.

will we ever see another captain fantastic of a man - I doubt it.

Great post and you’re right it’s very doubtful we’ll never see his like again.

Imagine what he went through during and after the war.

The youngsters nowadays get anxiety if they’re late for a bus!
