Not to be pedantic but Shane Warne was a leg spin bowler and new balls don’t really spin that much they tend to slide on annd bounce more. Older balls are better for spinning.
Plus he’s dead.

Sorry to be even more pedantic but Warne and many other spinners have opened the bowling in test matches. In ODi’s and T20’s it’s actually commonplace and pace off the ball slows down the scoring rate.

Correct but that’s not due to the ball spinning. Thats due to the bounce when it’s done in test matches and is done on pitches that are spinning which is nothing to do with the ball. In ODIs and T20s pace off the ball is useful so spinners open but it’s nothing to do with the ball spinning it’s to do with power plays and whether the conditions would promote too much swing and seem for the white ball which is harder to control for pace bowlers.
