BBM: Worked hard on transfers and we're making progress

Goalkeeper Nathan Trott is signing

Brian Barry-Murphy:

“I’ve spent a lot of time focusing on what we need to recruit in terms of specific profiles, it feels as if we’re making good progress on that.”

This backs up what I've said all along.

The delay is because the club has their own targets but BBM didn't like them.

He had his own targets and they're the ones we'll sign now.

I’ve said before that I would rather us wait for the right players who can play the way we will be playing.

People seem to be under the impression that it’s just ‘ok we want him’ > ‘done’.

It’s not as simple as that, especially operating in the loan market where teams are still assessing their squads (especially PL teams where the season starts later)

No doubt Derek will have something to say about it though.

We have to addmit we are behind the curve on this in comparison to a lot of clubs in this division,
hopefully we will catch up soon, Saturday is beckoning.

The difference is we already had a better squad than most teams in this division.

He did say quality over quantity and looking at it keeper is better quality than both our keepers.

Sorry Ned thats your opinion...this team less 12ended the season with a whimper . I have watched city for some 55 years... the defence needs work as dies midfield and wings .. Still looks dodgy in defence

Not only my opinion but that of neutrals too.

The only people talking us down are a minority of our own fans.

We have a brilliant manager now.

You shouldn’t be speaking for other people.

I hope he does well, he’s got to be better than Riza.

You do big managers up way too much before they’ve actually proven themselves. “Riza is the man to take us to the prem” that aged well.

Surely a bit early in his managerial career to call him a brilliant manager Hope that turns out to be correct I have been impressed with him so far But brilliant not sure he is at that class yet

I am not talking us down I am being realistic this squad took us down, they have have a lot to prove for me to enthuse over them they owe us a lot after last year's debacle I will wait and see. I hope they perform and new recruits arrive of the quality we need. But I can t bounce around with excitement quite yet.

Presumptuous, he looks promising, but as a Manager, he's yet to show he's brilliant.

As for the squad the defence still looks a shambles and we lack leaders and some steel, hopefully we can improve on both scores.

Correct.

As you've pointed out, the moderators don't all have the same opinion.

I frequently disagree with the other moderators and that's not a secret, people can see that with their own eyes

Trott makes sense of proof in this.
He's a very good keeper with the ball at his feet. I feel.he might lack in other areas (although not much difference in what we already got).
But he's much better with the ball at his feet.
BBM is going to want a sweeper keeper.
It showed today at the work out. The game they played was with keepers playing it out from their feet under pressure.
