Why I Believe Keith Morgan Should Step Down as Chair of the Cardiff City Supporters’ Trust



As a committed supporter of Cardiff City Football Club, I believe it is time for Keith Morgan to stand down from his position as Chair of the Cardiff City Supporters’ Trust.



The Trust was created to represent the collective interests of fans, to hold the club to account where necessary and to act as an independent and transparent body working in the best interests of supporters. In recent times, however, it has become increasingly clear that Keith Morgan is using his position not to serve these principles, but to advance his own standing within the club.



It appears that Mr. Morgan is attempting to secure a place on the Cardiff City board without the financial commitment or shareholder backing that such a position would normally require. Rather than focusing on strengthening the Trust’s role as a voice for the wider fan base, he seems more concerned with gaining personal influence and public recognition—treating the Trust as a platform for self-promotion rather than community representation.



This shift in focus undermines the integrity of the Supporters’ Trust and risks alienating the very people it was formed to represent. Trust leadership should be built on transparency, accountability, and service—not on personal ambition or the pursuit of status.



For these reasons, I believe Keith Morgan should do the right thing and step down from his role. The Trust deserves a fresh start with leadership that is genuinely committed to acting in the best interests of all Cardiff City supporters—without hidden agendas or personal aspirations clouding its purpose.
