THE INTERVIEW: WHAT DID WE LEARN?

Thu Jul 24, 2025 6:31 pm

I’ve separated this OP from the thread on the same subject, to allow members to share their thoughts on what was said, all in one place

So, I finally got to listen to last night’s interview with Annis, and I found it to be a pretty good listen

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yocPABuwA ... e=youtu.be

But what did we learn that’s new? :?

Well, for me, it mainly confirmed what I’d been told elsewhere, by different people to Annis, and different people to Lakey (Tony Rivers), i.e. there is 100% a ‘bid’ (or bids) in for the club, and the ‘preferred bidder’ is some considerable way down the line with their due diligence, acceptable offer, and other negotiations with Vincent Tan, who is himself pleased with the offer (a huge hurdle overcome) and with the privacy with which the talks have been carried out

Why would such high profile people, Annis/Lakey, etc. come out so vociferously on these bidders, if they weren’t more than confident in the information! On a personal level, it wouldn’t make any sense to ‘make it up’, would it?

The work of two individuals (one already named but not sure about the other) has been immense, and when/if this ‘deal’ is completed, they will deserve high praise!

It is clear that the ONLY obstacle to this deal going ahead is Vincent Tan himself, but for it to get this far with Vincent getting pretty much what he wants, therefore providing a reputation-ally intact exit, it is felt that this deal will be the one that succeeds

These are not ‘stories’, they are close to spot on, with maybe small anomalies, and like me, loyal Bluebirds should be very upbeat at the moment

It may still take some time (it’s not like buying a house) but the future is looking somewhat rosier than it has for some time!

Keep the faith, fellow Bluebirds! :ayatollah:

Spot on Chris.

Some will decide to be downbeat about the chances of this deal going through, but all the signs from the people who are reliable point to a positive outcome.

People also need to realise that selling a football club is not like selling a car, it takes time for all the t's to be crossed. There has to be a degree of patience from us all.

We have waited a long time for a new ownership group, so a little longer to wait is not a big issue if we get the right outcome - which appears to be the case.

So I am feeling positive about the whole situation.

We, as fans, know should now concentrate on being fans, and come together. And this why we should all turn up at our first home game and first away in big numbers. Let's get the wagon rolling, and push to get our fan base back together!

All those that gave up with the red, all those that gave up with Riza, all those sat at home watching Cardiff City on tv, let's help the team jus like Sunderland did, and turn up in big numbers. This is the best thing we can do as fans, and also create and enjoy the better atmosphere!

This could be the best news Cardiff City have had in their history. Ill wait that bit longer, if it means the clubis in safer more ambitious plans....

Agree with Monty..... there's enough feel good factor and a large enough cloud being lifted with the potential departure of Tan to really see a surge in support both home and away

I’ve no idea how accurate these “rumours” are but it’s pretty obvious that there is something going on behind the scenes regarding the ownership of the club

Hopefully we will get some good news shortly I’ve got my fingers crossed

What I do know is that with a few decent signings this squad of players will get us promoted it’s not going to take a huge amount of money for that to happen

Being a realist as I've said before I won't believe it until its official. And I've not heard it from a reputable source within tbe media yet either. It all seems like rumours, not knocking anyone for putting out what they've heard though.
One thing I find confusing is that people say Tan was angry that Bale went public, yet the south African bid is now common knowledge. So whilst not openly saying it in the media it's public knowledge now. Wouldn't Tan get annoyed by this?
I do enjoy the seeing the excitement of people though believing it could happen. Beats all the doom and gloom we usually see on here.

Thank you Chris,

Much appreciated.

Yes everything I said has come directly from very very reliable people.

And yes Bale embarrassed Tan that's the difference with these people they are not going out their publicly and showing off.

They are doing everything that is asked of them.

As I said the ball is Totally in Vincent Tans hands now.

The great news is these are Not going away.

So regarding the "bale bid" did they withdraw their offer and then offer something small ?

No offered a low amount then raised it but nowhere near what tan wanted ... otto as apparently offered what tan wanted including settling dalmans money... no wonder wasn't entertained by tan.

Re: THE INTERVIEW: WHAT DID WE LEARN?

Thu Jul 24, 2025 8:21 pm

We learned that they are serious about offer and wanting to buy club... it is rather confusing with no comments from any sports outlet but got to believe what other people like Annis is saying.... even now there's supposedly ITK people rubbishing the possibility of takeover making out nothing that's what's been said is true or actually happened! (Don't mean Keith either) what sad life some lead... think the interview just reinforced what's been muted to be happening behind scenes. Let's hope tan doesn't get cold feet.

Re: THE INTERVIEW: WHAT DID WE LEARN?

Thu Jul 24, 2025 8:33 pm

It feels like we are about to cross the finish line but the cynic in me says its not over until the fat lady.......

My fear is if Tan pulls the plug. I'm hearing rumours he is being advised to pull out and if he does then the protests will explode. Well I hope they do if this is the case. Another season of Tan after all this is not worth contemplating.

Re: THE INTERVIEW: WHAT DID WE LEARN?

Thu Jul 24, 2025 8:33 pm

I don’t want to talk about Keith Morgan, but I will put the record straight:

Keith said Bales group Never put a bid in when they had it then confirmed by Bale himself.

Keith feels left out as No one bothers to talk to him and he feels that because he is virtually charge of the 280 Members of The Trust he should be spoken to, that’s not how it works.

I think he feels he is someone important, We are All just Fans of Our Club nothing else.

We should unite on all this.

I spoke to someone very high in the Club tonight and they will not be saying anything publicly till all is Signed and rightly so.

But Tan can only decide that, NO one else.

Don’t really want to go into my situation but Annis will know. I have a very close link to a business with Tan. 100% there’s a bid, and almost at the final stages. I find it laughable that the Trust say no bid LOL. Unbelievable after speaking to my contact.

Are you still confident in the deal happening Annis?

Hoping and praying the consortium pulls it off. Fresh start, fresh ideas and all the fans united as one is needed. Even better if the new consortium will listen to fans, and not treat us as “customers”.

Not answering for Annis, but you ask a good question

Currently, everything is going very well and the consortium are pushing on. However, as previously stated, Rome wasn’t built in a day and timings (if meetings, appointments, etc.) need to be changed. This won’t be an overnight purchase and we all need to be a little patient when there is little or no news for a few days, maybe (hopefully not) even weeks) :ayatollah:

As I keep saying Shane, it still all looks very positive, but it just won’t happen as quick as we would all like it to.

You’ve put it way better than I have.

Cheers Sven and also Annis.

Think we are all hoping Rome was built yesterday to be honest haha, probably why the same questions keep getting asked. Let’s just hope it runs smoothly and Tan does sell up, not just for us. But himself. As things can only get worse if he isn’t prepared to invest, and totally lost interest.

Cheers both.

Its a very complex takeover annis so expect one or two twists ... but what would be nice is some sort of communication before start season if just to say talks are progressing well ...give everyone a lift and bit reassurance.
