New features on match threads

Will put up the Peterborough match thread over the weekend.

Does anyone think there should be any new features or anything removed on the match threads this season. Prefer to keep them the same over the whole season so let me know on this thread (or PM etc) by then if you do. Will consider any ideas



Layout from last season is below. Also there's normally the fixture heading, picture of the stadium, match result poll as well as it being updated with team news and manger comments etc:

Can we add referee details once known?

In addition it would be good to add a Ref Watch after each game with ratings on various aspects of their game?

I’d like to see where each club finished in the league last season as part of the match thread, just for ease of finding out

What about including Things about the stadium how to get their pubs to drink in Transport links and any other info you need about the ground and Area

I usually Google away days co. Uk they cover most with what you require away pubs parking stadium layouts by train car stadium prices etc

Great shout, I always look for the ref, sometimes I wish I hadn't as I think we will be playing against 12 men.

Will try and get the first match thread up on Saturday night after the last friendly.

Opposition weaknesses would be good.

Might give a good insight ahead of the game for areas the City might look to target.

Would like a player rating of one if possible; I find that some people give 'man of the match' awards to a player who has been the worst player on the pitch, thereby degrading the award.

At the least, change nothing. It works, and works very well for me. I liked the level of information and appreciate the effort put into it.

Great as it is & I see no reason to add/change anything. There's more than enough information given as is & any more may just make it unreadable for those with short attention spans.

I've thought this over and thanks for all the feedback everyone.

There will be changes:


First, I'll be removing the rival players section. I think most fans these days have a sense of ex-Swansea players in an opponents team and not sure it was needed. Because I'm adding a few things, I also don't want the match thread to be overloaded with different sections.

Things that will be added for all games:


An "about the opponent". This will include their current league position, last season's league position and a few details about the club.

There will be a few details about the match referee.

For away games, there will also be details about the stadium we're visiting.



Hope it doesn't make the match thread too clunky, but this is what I've settled on.

Peterborough match thread will be posted later on Sunday.

You do a great job with these posts every match day Worcester, I’m sure it’ll even improve things.
