“ LACK OF ZERO TRANSFERS APPARENTLY IS DUE TO “

Wed Jul 23, 2025 8:59 am

The lack of Signings is nothing to do with any Sale of the Club says Glen Williams:

“It’s due to Brian Barry Murphy Choosing to bring in Quality rather than Quantity.”

BBM:

"So we are very excited by what we have in the building, but we all want to be ambitious to move the club forward in every department.”

"Adding quality, rather than quantity, that is what we will be doing, you will only see quality players coming in.”

“Zoning in on specific players with the profiles we believe can bring the way we want to play to life."

At this present moment we are down 12 players and going with what we got i fully understand the reasons why but hopefully we can recruit some players shortly.

Is he going down the Money ball route based on statistics rather than name or reputation? :bluebird:

We need some new faces just to freshen things up.

Particularly need someone with a bit of dog about them in the middle of the park.

Players we have left will not get us promotion. Too soft, went down with little fight. Worrying no additions with just over a week to go before Peterborough game. I'm hoping for a more entertaining season than the previous few.

I would have expected some movement by now.

Hopefully things are in the pipeline.

Attentions are about to be focused on the pitch. Will our delight of new owners, its going to happen, be subdued by the football.

We are about to find out.

I've been saying this on here for weeks.

Also have always said we have the basis of a decent squad.

That said, we do need a few additions. Experience is obviously needed.

You would have thought so but going on what's happening think loans are all thats coming this window and bbm says wants quality not quantity ? Quality will come near end window as squads are finalised particularly by premier league clubs.... patience is required. Again!!

Agree. Further down the leagues you go the more important grit and determination is. These players aren’t good enough to coast by on talent (like Birmingham last season), and they certainly haven’t shown the grit or determination that would be needed to compete at the top of League One (like Wrexham).

It’s why I was disappointed to see Ralls leave, because, and big if, if he managed to stay fit I think he’d be outstanding at League One.

It's about getting the right player that fits into the managers tactics
I am shocked that there have been not much outgoings in terms of players leaving

We need quality over quantity agreed. New quality it’s needed, no matter if our players have played in the Prem, are looking good pre-season or wherever, fact is they were the worst team in a poor quality championship and have developed a lack of fight and a losing mentality. A disgrace they took us into this third tier.

We know this is all a front as we put 2 bids in on loan for 2 Man City players and they have stalled the deal down to the rumours circulating over Tan selling and getting more of a fee and wage for the 2 players if a deal does get between the new owners and Tan.. one was meant to be near enough done when the team was Spain and that’s a fact.

So Dando your saying they’ve not gone through with these 2 players because of rumours of a Sale?

Premier youngster loan deals are always late as the teams decide who to keep and who to send where. They always have control. We'll just have to wait for those. I hope that BBM has a strong relationship with them and can convince them that the style of play here will be good for their development.

Fed up of waiting for @CardiffCityFC to sign a player. We conceded 73 goals last season. We will always be one or two injuries away from a crisis atm. An iniury to one of Salech or Colwill,I struggle to see where our goals will come from. Defensively still lacking physically. Also I see exactly the same problem this season, the defence continues to let in easy goals.

I've moved this post to this thread because this is the thread about this topic, don't know why you always think you have to start a new one - especially as all your posts are just copied from other people on X.

It's also factually wrong.

Anyone who watched the full game yesterday will know we defended mostly well against QPR. Also has to be remembered will be against League One attacks, not Championship.

As for goals, we have Robinson too. Davies, Tanner, Willock, Robertson (if he stays) etc all capable of scoring at this level.

We will still sign a few to build the numbers but there's the basis of a very strong League One squad.

How many goals has Colwill scored in the league? Ever. He's hardly prolific.

League one teams that I watched a few games last season have 6 foot plus players ball lumped into the box at every opportunity set pieces will be a problem with our defence after last season confidence cant be high amongst our defender's not sure about goal keepers either defo a bamba morrison type of players needed

Just reading off the script he's told to. Aload of tosh in my opinion. I bet he wanted to bring a few players he knows in within days of seeing the squad to be honest but the club are skintos in my opinion.

Eitherway we go with what's there for the opening game I bet then you'll have anyone coming in behind everyone so will take weeks to get up to the standard as they have not been playing regularly so end up on the bench that's the usual we do lately even the youngsters on loan which we will get no doubt. :bluescarf:

We definitely need reinforcements to cover injuries suspensions etc

But goals will not be our problem this season I can see us scoring 80 plus

How anyone who watched yesterday's game can fail to be excited by the way we attacked it reminded me a bit of the dave Jones years

I look forward to the new season just the same as I do at this stage every year simply because we are starved of football in the summer months.

However, even though I believe we should be top half with the squad we already have, I am not yet convinced we have the extra quality needed to push for automatic promotion.

As others previously mentioned, one or two injuries of our better players could result in a serious dip in form.
The squad is currently too thin in defence, midfield and goal scorers to maintain the required form for a serious promotion bid at the end of another very long season.

Yes we have some good defenders, midfielders and a couple of regular goalscorers, but have we really got enough?
Let's face it, players like Robinson and Tanner for example appear to be injured as often as they are fit.
I'm sorry if I upset the usual optimistic posters who think we have enough quality without the need to recruit, but I can only say how I truly feel.
