What's your matchday routine (without mentioning Tan, Nash, Bale et al)
Fri Jul 18, 2025 11:45 am
Use to have a routine but this 12.30 KO lark as thrown it out window .... but generally leave home 5 hrs before ko stop in Swansea services for coffee get to ground 12.30 if 3pm ko .... lunch in sand Martin home around 8pm.... if 12.30 ko same routine except at ground 10ish lunch at asda... but hoping to use train much more which means 7.30 train both 12.30/3pm KOs bus to and from ground 6pm train and home around 9pm if trains running to time ... cost around 3k a season as don't go to midweek games.

Wake up, from a bad sleep that was really broken because of Tan.
Find out it’s raining because of Tan.
The rain means I can’t wear my new Spezials, which upsets me.
Head to the pub a few hours beforehand, turns out that Tan forgot to tell the pub to clean their lines so the pint is awful.
In all honesty though, wake up, chuck some clobber on, cafe for a breakfast, pub for a few, game, back to pub for a few more, home for an argument with the mrs about why I drank so much beer.

Used to be early start get loaded on a concoction of weed, Powder and a canton crawl, though sometimes Grangetown or cans in jubilee park. When moved to CCS Hide cans under a car outside 104, a jazz cigarette half time and finish off cans, fast food. Fall asleep on train struggle to remember the full time whistle. Terrible head no voice next morning, my ex having a right moan.
Drug free last 10 years. These days my 15 yr old and six or seven of his mates around me who love pyros and the limbs, so just have a couple of beers in canton before the game, sometimes one after. Unfortunately I remember everything these days!

Mate just blame Tan for the reason you drank so much beer!
I’m sure she’ll fall for that one.

Breakfast at spoons and then jump on the train to Cardiff, try to be there 3-4 hours ahead of kick off and have a few drinks.
That might change this season as need to cut my alcohol intake.
Needed the drinks last season to get through it

Park up 12:30 (3pm kick-off) with sarnies, flask, chocolate, and book walk to ground at 2pm. Can't wait for first game might finish the book I started I'm March!

If 3pm go to the casino have a couple of pints with my dad, subway or kfc then to the ground. Early kickoff I go into canton for a brekkie then spoons then game. I’m looking forward to the season starting now

If it’s a 3pm kick off, leave home around 8/8:30 as I live in Salisbury so have a 98 mile drive (2 and a half hours if a good run)
Get in to Cardiff, grab some food and then usually head to the Canton Cross Vaults as it’s always busy on a match day and an enjoyable atmosphere
After the game, straight back to the car to try and beat some of the traffic. Usually home about 8:30
And yes it was VERY painful doing this last season with the dire performances…apart from the Swansea game of course

Warning will sound like a forceful parent ahead!
Wake up and get ready for the whole day.
Me and my 3 year old go little kickers club first (this season my 1 year old will be coming too). Then we travel down straight from there to Cardiff city and park Hadfield road and have some packed lunch I made. That’s about 11:30AM go to Asda and make our way to stadium car park to meet players and get pictures with my kid.
Then my kid demands we go smiths toy superstore to play with cars (he is non verbal so if you ever see a kid growling and pointing that way that’s us

)
Play there for an hour with him, go to stadium then and he like to meet the dancers in family stand then we try out the seats at top row as he likes heights, then we hunt for Bartley bluebird as son loves him.
Then we go to our seat where he usually crashes and then he tries his hardest to not watch the football for 90mins while trying to force my attention away
My 1 year old now has his season ticket too so he’s joining the routine

I swear he likes it though, he loves routines like me and we do all this to the same minute every week except early kick offs ofc but he gets so excited seeing the stadium and all the regular sights
