Ethan Horvath’s future remains uncertain.
Reports suggest the USMNT international wants to leave in order to secure more regular game-time ahead of the World Cup — and stylistically, the American doesn't quite fit Barry-Murphy’s likely possession-based blueprint.
His tentativeness and lack of assuredness with the ball at his feet will be a major red flag.
Jak Alnwick looks set to start the season as No.1, but with the uncapped Matt Turner the only man behind him, Cardiff may need to dip into the market again to provide adequate cover and competition.
David Harrington, a Cork man just like Barry-Murphy, has been linked in recent weeks.

Not good enough, we need a new No1 keeper.

We need better, he has no presence or confidence at the back.

Agree we need a new no1 keeper.
BBM go get that Lichtenstein keeper so impressive against Wales. Think he has or is playing in the English leagues.
I know one performance is not everything but was well impressed at his shot stopping and all round command of the area.

Im split with our keepers as I think the issue was more our leaky defence that left both keepers left as cannon fodder.
However, I wouldnt be bothered if he left. He looks tiny in goals. Call me old fashioned, but I like a UNIT in goals.

Hovarth is a decent shot stopper, but he refuses to leave his line. Balls where he should come and collect he just stands there and expects defenders to chase back to get them.

I'm not sure he's such a good shot stopper either tbh. Quite a few times he's been rooted to his line when a shot has whizzed past him.

Definitely need a new goalkeeper.
Alnwick is a likeable character but he can't play in the way the manager will expect.
Horvath was brought in mainly because he was apparently good with the ball at his feet but we've seen limited evidence of that. I was at Burnley last season when he had his horror show and I honestly don't think he's overcome that.
I can see a loan goalkeeper coming in to be first choice.

Thought Jak was out until September, he was hoping for August but I’ve seen 1st week of September mentioned.
If that’s the case we definitely need a decent keeper
