Salech question

Mon Jul 14, 2025 7:34 pm

Here's one for you all.

If keeping Salech meant we wouldn't sign anyone then would you take it?

Or would you rather sell Salech and be able to strengthen the squad?

Purely hypothetical because I doubt that would be the situation.

We’ve missed a decent striker for a while now.
He gives a fck too!!!

Keep Salech out of those options.

We’ve lacked fire power and we finally have it.

The squad we have right now is still good enough for top 6 in League One.

And before anyone says ‘they got us relegated’ Sure, from a better quality division and you all said it wasn’t the players fault, it was Rizas.

I don't think Riza can take all the blame, 11 player cross the white line and they didn't show enough fight imo. Even Goutas questioned how we all just settled for relegation and I think he's spot on. There were some awful individual errors last season too. No brainer to keep Salech.

Keep Salech

Salech has to stay and if Robbo stays then we have up top covered - unless the manager adds a loan to that .

I dont like those options. For promotion, we need to keep AND strengthen.

Out of the options, I'd keep as he's harder to find and our best current asset to me. The danger in that is injury, as the backup is poor.

Strikers like Salech are a cery rare comodity nowadays. Say what you like about Tan but he's funded alot of options in the past 5 years; but all but Salech (back to Moore) have been poor or a short term solution like a Kaba.

Rocking horse shit

Because that's the point of football forums. Topics and debate. Not rocket science is it?

Salech all the way, he's perfect for league 1. He will be the top goal scorer in the league if we manage to keep him.

I'd be a little disappointed if these were the only two scenarios we had to chose from.
I'd probably choose to keep Salech as there is no guarantee that replacements are likely to contribute to the goal tally this season, the way we expect Salech to.

Hopefully, in real terms, I hope we can keep him along with improving a few positions in the squad around him with these 'quality' signings the manager suggests, to have a realistic change of an immediate return to the Championship.
