I'd expect transfer movement from now

Sun Jul 13, 2025 5:57 pm

A lot have been going on about the lack of transfers coming in.

I haven't been one of those people because we had the news that the initial transfer targets were vetoed by BBM because they didn't fit the profile he wanted. He also had his own targets which would be a much better fit.

I also didn't expect any news in the last week because the manager has been in Spain. Deals could be done while he was away, but unlikely.

He also has had the time to evaluate the squad so will know what he needs.

He said last night that there will be players coming in over the next few weeks.

I would expect there to be at least some rumours this week if not more than just rumours.

I don't expect loads of new signing and nor do I think we need loads unless star players leave, which is unlikely at this point.

"Quality rather than quantity" is definitely the right approach because we have the core of a strong squad for this league. Thankfully, gone are the days where we stack the squad with has beens.

We just need to add a few. Need some experience and I'm sure there will be a few young loanees who can add quality.

20 days to go until the first game against Peterborough. Preparations are going well with the players that we have in the building and it will be interesting to see who the new additions will be.

Excited for the new season, not long to go now.

I think this is an obvious statement, given what we have done so far. If any ownership deal is close, it will probably wait until done, if not, we need to get moving to the current owner’s plan and back the manager, so interesting few weeks ahead. :bluebird:

Even if a sale was agreed tomorrow then it almost certainly wouldn't go through until after the window has closed because of the increased EFL checks.

I honestly don't see this having an impact on the transfer window for those reasons.

I might be among the minority, but I like that we haven’t made a signing yet.

Why? Because it shows we have a manager who wanted to assess, find the areas we need new players, and target players that match the style he wants to play.

Since Warnock left, the signings haven’t been the managers choices mainly. They have been ‘club’ signings that haven’t worked.

I agree that we may now start seeing some movement.

I’m excited to see who we bring in.

I think we will see a few loans in shortly, already chatter that one loan from man city is almost done

Hopefully there's a bit of money if bbm identifies someone he really feels would improve our starting 11

I also think 2 or 3 will leave this week tusonoda back to japan for 1.5 mil is doing the rounds and I have a feeling Robertson will go (I hope he doesn't) but he just didn't seem interested over in Spain just looked like his head wasn't in it

I did say he may go at few weeks back and looking at his 2 perfomances in Spain he seems to have carried on where he left off at the end of last season
Uninterested

Fair enough, if any sale is close, in my opinion only, the club would not be buying and selling assets without the potential new owners’ approval the bid would be based on rules in that area and if a deal in general is possible, the club will be holding back on transfers in and out at this stage if indeed a sale is imminent as we are starting to think.

Also agree with other posters the Manager wanted to look at what he had first etc.. but again, just my opinion, the lack of transfer activity from the board to date is likely to be down to a possible sale in the near future. :bluebird:

It's a known fact that BBM told the club he wasn't happy with their initial transfer targets, that's why we haven't signed anyone.

But he has his own targets now and there will be incomings soon.
