Looking forward to winning the league

Thu Jul 10, 2025 7:02 pm

Decent video put out by the club from Spain, filmed by Dylan Lawlor and Tanatswa Nyakuhuwa doing the interviews.

Callum Robinson asked what he's most looking forward to. He said "winning the league".

Brilliant to see. People will still slate Robinson for what ever reason. Look what he thinks of the youngsters how he wants them to succeed and break on through. Look at the respect he got the kid was in awe of Robinson. He is so import to our club for many reason not just because he’s our top scorer last season.

If we manage to keep Robbo and Salech we have a massive chance of finishing top 2

Robbo & Salech should be 40 goals between them next season. Lots of win bonuses lots of goal bonuses. I hope they both stay.

Wow I’m an optimist, a happy and positive guy but I think you’re being even too optimistic for me there!

Hope you’re right though!!!

If Robbo and Salech stay and if both remain fit, I think we stand a good chance of top half.
That's as optimistic as I get with the current squad!

But those are two very big if's.

Honestly baffled how some talk us down like that.

We have a decent enough squad to compete for top two.

The neutrals predict us to do well and the bookies have us as second favourites.

For some reason it's just our own fans writing us off.

I believe if we don't sell another player there's not many teams in league 1 who could stop us

If Colwill can keep turning in the kind of performance we saw the other night and we attack with the pace we did I am predicting we will dish out a few hammerings

I don't think the squad is bad at all, last season we were poorly coached and I believe the players lost heart (which is no excuse and they should have put more of a shift in) but it must have been pretty demoralising being coached by a Sunday league manager who was changing things every 20 minutes

I'll wait to I see how the players react to last seasons pathetic performances.

Top two...you really are optimistic.
Maybe if we make a few quality signings, but not with a squad that failed so miserably last season to finish bottom.

It's my guess that neutrals and the bookies are assuming a club the size of Cardiff will bring in the signings we need to push for promotion.
But, we are talking about the chances with the existing squad, who by last seasons performances have proved to be inadequate.

Robertson : Where did you go on holiday this summer. Dubai twice, Mauritius & Australia.
The life of a League One footballer eh?

It's not optimistic if neutrals and bookies are saying the same.

But you carry on talking us down if you want, clearly fits your agenda.

My final word on the subject.
How can a club that gets relegated as bottom of the league, be considered second favourites for promotion after offloading about a dozen of its squad with no replacements.

My only agenda is to see Cardiff City back to winning ways and that won't happen wearing rose tinted glasses!

Finally, I repeat, the bookies have us second favourites expecting us to make a number of quality signings.
If the club announced that there were to be no new signings, I think you'd find the odds on promotion rapidly reducing.

Just to make it clear because certain people like to make out that my posts are something that they aren’t: this reply is just my own opinion on the points above.

Most relegated teams will be seen as one of the favourites for promotion the season after.

Ultimately there are a few different factors to why we got relegated, and the players that have left so far are (in my opinion) not a big loss - COD and Goutas would possibly have a role to play, but the others I don’t think would.

It’s a league below, so whilst we got relegated, it was from a higher standard League.

Instead of playing Burnley, we will be playing Bradford, and with no disrespect meant to Bradford, they aren’t anywhere near the standard that some of the teams we played last season are.
