Cardiff City continue their pre-season preparations on Saturday with a game against Southend United in Murcia.
The game kicks off at 7pm local time (6pm UK time).
So far, the Bluebirds have beat Merthyr 13-1 and drew 2-2 with Johor.
Southend have dropped down the leagues and finished 7th in the National League last season. They lost the play-off final against Oldham.
They had spent 101 years in the EFL before their relegation in 2021.
Their current manager is Kevin Maher, who has also played over 350 league games for them.
This will be Southend's first pre-season friendly.

Could this potentially be the team we see starting the first league game?

Don't think it will be far off, maybe bagan instead of Giles and wilock instead of nyakuhwa

Stabbing people at football is ridiculous. Don’t get what goes through people’s tiny minds sometimes.
Sadly I can see this happening again next season. There will be a few who fancy having a pop at Cardiff trying to make a name for themselves

Yea I agree it seems the further down the league pyramid you go these days the more trouble there is and I think we will see more clubs trying to have a pop
Just hope anyone who has been hurt out there makes a quick recovery and all ccfc fans out there stick together and look out for each other

Moronic behaviour of true.
Nice weekend in Spain, watching football with a few beers. A friendly game too.
Hope everyone is safe out there.

Apologies hadnt read the above posts - and feel a little guilty about posting something humorous.
Violence at football matches has no place. I hope all involved will recover.

When it comes to the game, even start.
Horvath made a decent save early on.

20" - Salech heads narrowly wide
Sat Jul 12, 2025 5:24 pm
1-0 City
Salech
Sat Jul 12, 2025 5:25 pm
If Salech keeps missing the chances, we should be fine keeping him
On serious note, should find his feet soon

Rubin playing very well again

And he does....
25" Ball well won by Cian Ashford. Rubin could shoot but passes to Salech to slot the ball into the net and a 1-0 lead
