ROBERTSON STAYING OR GOING?

Tue Jul 08, 2025 7:02 pm

I think he will be gone before we start the season i hope he does' nt but pompey Ipswich and others will try to get him back in the championship and he lost interest towards the end of the season almost gave up and looked completely different to the start of the season ,but i think riza had a bearing on that, and had with a lot of players let's hope the new manager can grip the players and draw them in to his belief that we are going from promotion from the off .
Or at least that's what I hope he is saying to all the players.

They'll have to pay big money and I can't see that happening.

I don't see any key players leaving, I include Salech in that.

If someone wants to offer stupid money then that might change things.

But they won't be sold cheap.

All that matters at the moment is he's in Spain with the rest of the squad.

Something way above that his value is so £6m+.

Like I say, don't see that happening so he'll probably stay.

We've been told we don't need to sell so we can put big prices on our best players

Robertson has a good relationship with bbm so I doubt he will be pushing for a move

I think it would have to be 5 mill plus for us to even consider it

If that's the case even though he may fancy pompey cannot see them paying that even if he wants to go but Ipswich are admirers they could pay with there parachute payments

While sale /negotiations are ongoing and apparently close I don't think we will see any sales or purchases...just my opinion

That makes good sense!

Can only think O’Dowda was down to the fee involved because he was happy to stay! :ayatollah:

Robertson needs to stay, hopefully the sale of club (if happens) and working with BBM in the past makes his decision to stay here. As he would be a top player in this league.

I wasn't impressed last season. Did have an injury but looked lightweight, deadball distribution absolutely shocking and like the rest of the midfield went missing end of season. Right offer I would offload especially if he wants out. Our midfield is too soft imo

I see what you mean.
I think that any one of Robertson, Colwill or Turnbull may be surplus. Anyones guess who the 'one' would be if that's the case.

I think he made the wrong transfer choice last season. He shouldn't have come to us.

However, I think he's our 2nd most important player to keep hold of at this level; behind Salech.

I don't really rate any of them. When I seen Colwills stats of 2 goals and 8 assists in 100 games I couldn't believe it. He just doesn't have enough of an effect in games especially hitting the net.

He didn’t have the right manager, managers kept changing.

The talent is there and BBM is the one that should unlock him. No way you sell him right now.

I hope you're right. Those stats are damning for a player with so much potential. Rubin needs to deliver and if he doesn't in league one I think he needs to be moved on.

The entire squad underachieved last season, not really fair to single out Robertson.

It wasn't a bottom three squad. The majority of them finished mid table the season before.

That 12th place finish was a false position. We stole so many points and the football was dire. Topic is about him staying or not. I've stared he underachieved last year and if he wants out let him go for right price.

People say the league table never lies. We said that after relegation last season so we can't change the rules when talking about the season before.

No, we performed badly enough to be the worst team in the league. That doesn't make it the worst squad in the league, in the same way that Man Utd didn't have the 6th worst squad in the PL but they finished 15th.

Fair point, it probably was the manager who got us relegated. If I remember rightly you said he could take us to the premier league

You've partly remembered right but left out a few details as many others do when they reference it.

What I actually said was with coaches he knows then that could have been a possibility. Obviously I was wrong about Riza but I always prefer to get positive instead of bringing everyone's mood down all the time by being negative.

But I was right about the coaches which is why I'm glad BBM has a few of his own people.

Does make me laugh when people reference that post I made, it's as it nobody else has ever been wrong. Many others are wrong on a daily basis but it doesn't get brought up.

I guess it’ll come down to BBM’s true opinion of him. If he really rates him, he stays. But if he thinks the money could be better spent on young talent from Man City or Chelsea, then maybe he will let him go.
Hopefully, he stays—and we still manage to bring in both

In reference to your wild prediction we were off to the prem with riza, it was such an impossible task ,
we remaind in the bottom 5 all season and you were still predicting promotion under riza .
