Hierarchy Cut Costs even more at CCFC:

Mon Jul 07, 2025 6:58 am

15 years later after Wasting so much money:

The CCFC squad flying out to Spain, usually a flight would be chartered by the Hierarchy , they flew with Ryanair and Ia normal. Passengers .

it’s then a 2 hr transfer to the base (costs), also been told that Sky Sports has been taken away from the Training building at the Vale as it costs the Club £13,000 a year,.

Been told Murphy’s budget is very very low, but he’s happy as he has got the job.

Murphy Tod to get loans in and young players.

Received £300,000 for Callum O'Dowda.

Annis, this is the price we are paying for a very, very badly run football club and nothing will change until Tan is removed.

We always sound like a very poor man's Man United. We've been following a similar, much lower-level path for a number of years, both misrun and in decline.

Can either Manager save their owners and clubs, make a difference, and turn things around?

Re: Hierarchy Cut Costs even more at CCFC:

£300K or £800K doesn't really matter if none of the money received will be used to strengthen the team.

It seems as if BBM's remit is to get promotion without strengthening the current squad and with little or no money available for players or coaching staff.

I'm a bit surprised that he'd accept those terms but then he was unlikely to be offered an opportunity like the Cardiff job any time soon, as was Riza before him.

The more it looks like we're going to be completely relying on youngsters and loanees this season the more worried I'm starting to get.

Let’s be honest, no one actually knows on this message board. It's just hearsay from "sources"

This is no dig at anyone, because I like hearing rumours etc, but it is just that rumours. Unless it is released information by the club, just take it all with a pinch of salt.

Sadly I agree with you Paul.

But the 1% on here will say different

It strikes me that if Tan was paying £300k per month to keep us going he has effectively sold O'Dowda so to ensure that he will not need to make any more payments.

Hopefully he is thinking this way - and new owners will be in place by the start of the season

The big push for promotion eh,
same every year cost cutting nothing changes apart from the managers Tan wanted promotion last year he or the club have not said a thing this season
On with the circus.

Re: Hierarchy Cut Costs even more at CCFC:

With the 12 leaving, you’d imagine we’ll have also saved more than 150k in wages, per week. That’s a massive amount over the course of a season.

If the owner does not want to commit any more money, most of which was wasted because of his poor strategy and leadership, then that’s fine .. but it clearly means it’s time for him to sell up and give a someone with fresh impetus a chance. I appreciate we’re not a charity, and he’s put vast sums in, but the failure to modernise and manage the club on the day to day mean it’s all self inflicted.

Time to go VT and your CEO

I’m glad it’s finally being run like the failing business it is. When a business loses money they cut costs, reassess, and see where income can be improved. We know income can be improved by getting promoted/going on a cup run and that should be the focus. Not these luxuries.

Players get all their news from their phones, they don’t need Sky at The Vale. They’ve just been relegated after an embarrassing showing, make them fly Ryanair. Why would we reward failure? Sit next to fans on the plane and let them tell you about what the club means to them, how they used to go to games with their parents/grandparents who are no longer around. Why relegation hurts, and why it’s horrible to see a once proud club in this position.

Personally I support these decisions and I agree, should’ve happened years ago.

Told you the cheap option an unknown manager now who's a coach in truth come in to do the same as riza cut costs and play with whatever he's given off the clowns above. Freebies and loans more than likely which is the usual dogshit but if it gets tan gone atleast then I'd play a team of under 18s to be honest. What makes me laugh is the new coach and the morons above talk promotion nonsense when clearly we are well off that in my opinion. Although we have heard it all for seasons on end but cutting costs at the same time. I expect some delusional fans will be foaming at the mouth when we are 10 games in and not 9 points clear at the top as that's what some are expect no doubt when most can see we are well off with what the club are doing :bluescarf:

Around a 6-8 million drop in income this season so there was always going to be some cost cutting , let's wait untill the 1st game of the season to see what the squad looks like , we are league one now not championship.

Sunderland have gone down a similar youth route, it worked out very well for them and their fans love it, even though they know they got promoted a year or two early.

When relegation was confirmed, we were told that there would be cost cutting, so it should come as no surprise.

The lost revenue needs to either be covered or made up for by cutting costs.

We have had overpaid players for a few years now, and our transfers (out) have not really generated money apart from McGuiness.

This is where it all comes to a head - poorly run for years with wasted millions.

That’s fair. At least that’s covered then, though you’d imagine still more high earners to go and lesser wages to come in. Out of interest, as I’m not massively close to it. How did Birmingham manage the transition so well and spend so heavily? Surely they had the same drop? What could the club copy, should they wish?

I think our squad is good enough already and with youth coming through im excited , for years the academy had been bashed on here by some ,well let's see if the investment in the academy in the last 10 years is going to pay off ,i think we have the manager to do this .
