Odowda officially gone

Callum O'Dowda has completed a permanent transfer to Hungarian side Ferencváros TC for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.

The Republic of Ireland international joined the Bluebirds in the summer of 2022 and made 94 appearances for the Club, scoring six times.

We’d like to thank Callum for his efforts over the past three seasons and wish him the best of luck for the future.


O’Doeda becomes City’s 12th player to depart.

Weird one that it’s Hungary. Think I’m in the minority that I’m not really bothered about him going though. A great servant and professional to be fair.

I would have lived him to have been here this season.

Also tho dalman did say some wanted to go so I bet he was one of them .

I don’t blame him wanting to go.

He was one of the only players who showed heart last season.

He will be missed.

Shame would of liked him to stay, he was only 1 of a very few who could actually say they made an effort last season

We now have a serious problem. There are very few experienced players left. I hope when BBM took over he was not told by Tan there would be no incoming signings. We have good youngsters but they will need some tougher nuts to help them along or we will not compete physically. In addition BBM said he wanted a younger and smaller squad. But remember there are 46 league games and 3 cup competitions. We don’t want to be down to bare numbers when injuries and suspensions kick in. This is not negativity but realism.

Not really a surprise but obviously disappointing.

But I expected this, so not too worked up about it.

To be honest we needed a good clear out after last season, but if there are no incomings then I am not at all optimistic about next season with a squad pf youngsters still learning their trade.
As of today its not looking good.

Shame. As many have said. Always out a shift in and led by example when captain.
Wish him well.

Can’t really blame him. He’s 30 years old and potentially be playing Champions League football if they get through the qualifying rounds.

Also be playing with some decent players like Naby Keita.

Hopefully we got a decent fee for him but you never know with our board

Well we should have as he signed a 3 year contract in January, but there again with the clowns we have running the club, we probably gave his new club money, f******idiots.

Good riddance. Massive love in for him, what did he actually do…. I will say he seemed to put effort in but he was part of the group that got us relegated and then jumps ship because he’s not up for the challenge to get us out the mess he is partially to blame for. Cheerio.

It wasn’t long ago that people on here were saying he was a waste of money and a sick note.

Or that he was shite at defending. And then that he wasn’t good on the wing and was better as a wing back.

Now they are all devastated he’s gone.

I don’t think we need to worry just yet.

First of all, we got relegated. Our fans need to understand that you will lose good players, that’s the cost of relegation.

Second of all, the club were about to recruit, but BBM has stepped in. This was needed. We don’t recruit for the manager or the philosophy, we do it blindly.


So…let’s see the positive. We have a manager who has stepped in to make sure we recruit properly. We have ripped up the plans and started fresh. With this, we will see negotiations and expected signings soon.

Let’s not make the mistakes of the past and just recruit anybody, let’s get the players that have the correct skills and traits which are required for BBM’s system.

Not surprised he is leaving but I wasn't expecting him to go to Hungary. Somebody on this site was pretty adamant he was returning to Oxford United.
