Vincent Tan is willing to sell to Gareth Bale

Wed Jul 02, 2025 6:33 pm

Daily Mail:

Current Cardiff owner Vincent Tan has expressed his desire to sell the club, and is open to selling to Bale.

It is thought, however, that the bid will be rejected - though could well be completed soon.

“Vincent Tan, the owner of the Welsh club relegated from the Championship to League One in May, has already indicated he is not prepared to sell to the former Real Madrid forward and his partners.”

So which one do we believe?

Wez, if Tan thinks he comes out of it well, he could now sell at a price around what you posted when/if a final agreement is made :ayatollah:

Surely if negotiations been going on for weeks, then Tan is obviously hapoy to talk, rather than saying this is what i want... pay up or feck off

Does yhe consortium have the funds to propel club to premier league? Tan started with personal wealth of some £800m now cannot sustain us in div 1 probably.... other clubs taken over by usa consortium but more people involved more problems that can happen.

Tan had a poor experience financially during the pandemic, due to nature of his businesses, and he lost a small fortune

He’s still a seriously rich man but our club is draining his wealth as a percentage. His family want him out, he wants out, and the vast majority of supporters (real or armchair) want him out.

The simple questions is: When is enough enough (mentally and financially) for a man who spent £millions upon £millions to end up with us in a lower League than where we started?

It’s a conundrum for Tan right now; but hopefully, Gareth Bale’s consortium can do a deal with one eye on the future rather than solely on where we are right now

Our potential is huge and we know that because we’ve seen it! :ayatollah:

Chris have said several times that tans losses unsustainable after relegation and he had choice suffer the losses and hope gey promoted but that means spending even more yo keep us up! It looks as if he's had enough ...but my question is does Bale Consortium have deep pockets and is not based on other models of 10 or more investments like down m4 contributing couple million each but expecting riches of premier league?

Agree with this, feels now or a long time off. He won’t gain that much back at championship level once you factor in the outlay he’ll need to cover this month with the losses we make. Let’s hope, for everyone’s sake, he moves on quickly and gives us time to rebuild

I agree; and he (Tan) would have my gratitude for accepting his time here is up!

Allan, you are correct in what you say, and the honest answer is that no one really knows how deep the consortium’s pockets are. However, i would suggest the fact that the highly successful Gareth Bale is involved, is an indicator that they would be the right people with a vision and a plan for the future

We must remember, the only way they’ll truly get their investment back is to reach the Premier League and stay there; the latter of which is something Tan has sadly failed to do, despite two attempts
