Cardiff City will kick off the 2025/26 season with a home fixture against Peterborough United on Saturday, August 2nd.
The Bluebirds will take on the Posh at Cardiff City Stadium on opening day, with kick-off at 12:30pm to be shown live on Sky Sports.
Brian Barry-Murphy's men will then travel to Vale Park to face recently promoted Port Vale in our first away trip of the campaign.
City's festive fixtures include a home clash with Exeter City on Boxing Day, before we host Stevenage on December 29th and travel to face Wycombe Wanderers on New Year's Day.
Over the Easter period, the Bluebirds take on Port Vale at CCS on Good Friday and Peterborough United away on Easter Monday.
Our final home fixture of the season will be against Northampton Town, and our 2025/26 campaign comes to a close at Field Mill, as we face Mansfield Town.

As with last season, following the launch of the new broadcast deal with Sky Sports, by Thursday 3 July all matches selected for broadcast for the period to the end of September will be announced, and before a ball is kicked in the 2025/26 season all TV selections will be confirmed for the period up to the FA Cup Third Round on the weekend of 10 January 2026.
This is up to five months’ notice provided to fans and Clubs, a significant increase on the previous deal, which had seen five weeks' notice given across the majority of the season. By selecting TV picks early and giving much more notice, fans will be able to plan with certainty when making travel and hotel arrangements.
Sky Bet EFL fixtures will be broadcast via either an existing Sky Sports channel or Sky Sports+ with all televised fixtures also available on streaming service NOW.
Further details, including TV selection notice periods for later in the season, is available on EFL.com.

This is the reality of relegation.

Accepted relegation was not good but really looking forward to this season and playing some different teams, I read somewhere that Birmingham played 60 odd games last season with their cup run.

Just saw something on twitter, is that not real?
Is it Posh home @ 12:30 first game
Thu Jun 26, 2025 11:02 am
Peterbourough home
Thu Jun 26, 2025 11:05 am
Luton and Plymouth in the first six.
No reason why we shouldn’t have a fast start with the first 6 games.
Love a home game to start the season off.

Definitely 12.30pm, says so on the club website.
Thu Jun 26, 2025 11:21 am
I guess you're right then. The club website is never wrong.

Peterborough also say it's 12.30pm and so do the EFL.
If anyone knows, it's them

Port Vale away stand about 4500
How many do you think we will have up there?
Thu Jun 26, 2025 11:37 am
Sorry, I am so entitled..... But today was the day that L1 dropped home.
Last season missible small games are this season's big games.
Thu Jun 26, 2025 11:48 am
Nice to have our bogey team first game lol . We should have enough to beat them though
Thu Jun 26, 2025 12:01 pm
Should be a fast open game if we play the way we are led to believe we are going to next season. Peterborough are renowned for playing attacking football.

Yeah, normally wouldn't care much for games against Luton or Huddersfield but they're the ones I'm looking at.
Tough start to the season but Vale will be a good first away day.
Nice in a way to not have the same old away stadiums.

November 22nd we are in Northampton, Jacks in Bristol - BTP could be busy that day.
Subject to fixtures being rearranged of course.
There are other dates when we are both home or both away on the same day, that hasn't happened often!!!

Especially with Stoke at home to Derby on the same day.
Won't be surprised if our game gets moved to the Friday or Sunday.
Thu Jun 26, 2025 1:02 pm
I think you are right about this one being moved

Jeez I didn't know that. Surely one will be moved. It has potential to 'kick off' if there was no clash.

You guys do realize we're in L1 now not the PL don't you?

I believe our away support will be better than it has been for years
Doing the same grounds year after year was getting a bit boring for some
Now we have new grounds and grounds we haven't been to in ages I'd be surprised if most aways weren't sold out or close to
