No aaron ramsey goodbye message?

Tue Jun 24, 2025 4:17 pm

I find it odd that ransey himself hasn't made a statement or have i missed it ? , the club has but he hasn't, is he part of the bid ? .

Posted something similar the other day.

Doubt he's part of the Bale thing.

He's still going to Mexico. Had to be a delay while FIFA removed the embargo on the club he's going to (now done).

Also had to sort out his things in Wales before flying over there to do the formalities.

Process was always reported that it would take several weeks.

So no change really. He's going to Mexico.

That's what I said and got accused of being disrespectful to Ramsey. I criticised him for a lack of respect and not saying it again.

But he's going to Mexico, nothing more to it.

That was low level media, like some random account on Twitter.

The Mexico stuff has been reported by high end media and people with 100% accuracy like Fabrizio Romano.

And they've doubled down on it.

It's pretty obvious Ramsey has gone, people need to accept it.

Even if a deal was done to well the club tomorrow, the process would take minimum three months because of the new EFL ratification process.

So you'd be talking end of September at the earliest, probably later.

That would leave Ramsey in limbo and not happening.

Any sale will probably take time to be agreed so a realistic time frame would be beyond Christmas anyway.

It will not take 6 months to sell the club , its only a small ltd company in business terms .

That's selling the club, not the EFL process of approval.

They have tightened the checks and they take much longer. Don't just want to see the money is there but where it's come from.

If there's a group of people then they have to check that on every single one of them.

Gary Neville talked about it recently. They at Salford only re-distributed the ownership of the club but it still took 2-3 months.

Here is your answer to the above ( some of you love the ITK stuff on here ) ;)
Aaron Ramsey's contract runs out next week - so we still have a week to go - if he decides to say something ...

Falling out with staff shouldn’t have stopped a good bye message.

Even players who don’t enjoy their stay say something.

We had to put up with his injuries for the last two years!

Plus being a Cardiff academy player, if it wasn’t for Cardiff he wouldn’t have had the career he had.

I thought it was said his wife wouldn’t allow him to go to Mexico?
And even though it is quite strange he’s not put out a statement. As most players do. It’s understandable the fans would like to hear from him.
Personally I feel he should consider retiring, his legs have had a hell of a punishment over the years and its testimony to his determination that he’s managed to play as long as he has with the injuries he’s had. It hasn’t worked out as he’d have hoped on his return, but that’s sport.

Re: No aaron ramsey goodbye message?

I think we will hear from him next week.. when contract finishes.
As for the sour ending.. maybe both sides are to blame..
why wait for club to agree to most of his demands and then turn around and decline.
Wasted time… so I think both sides came out of it looking bad.

Re: No aaron ramsey goodbye message?

Wed Jun 25, 2025 8:59 am

I have been thinking about this and flip-flopped a few times.

The more I think about it, I believe, and it's a total guess, but I have been involved in a fair few contracts tenders where we kept the tendering companies in total secrecy as to who their competitors were. They guessed, but we neither confirmed nor denied anything. Different days, locations, they meet different Engineers or Supervisors in case anything slips.

Could it be that the club was running a parallel process for both Rambo and BBM and only decided very late? Rambo didn't realise and feels aggrieved.
But then the Mexico club would have taken some doing unless its was a mates rate "we'll sign him" to pressurise CCFC
I don't buy into the Ken Choo Messed it up narrative, he does what his master tells him, and at any time, any decision could have been reversed. The insulting salary may be what the club expects to pay a fledgling manager in L1 and maybe the other fledgling manager felt it was appropriate.

He is an intelligent and professional young man, he is still under contract at the city, under loads of T & C's. I wait until July 1st :bluescarf:

Fair points, I didn't know he was still under contract.

Couldn't imagine him leaving it on a bad note, he doesn't seem the type.

The respect and love he has shown our club is immense. That Arsenal home game when he scored twice, I can still see him now walking back to the halfway line on his own after scoring the first goal, to polite applause from the Ninian Stand - an utterly unique event. Coming over to Annis' end of the Ninian at the end of the game...special, special player and man, and all ours.

Bale/Plymouth wasn’t low level media, it was John Percy at the Telegraph who is generally very reputable and probably just below Romano/Ornstein in reliability.

Smells to me like the consortium put the Plymouth link out themselves to try and strong arm Tan into some movement even if they deny it. Percy is probably a bit miffed.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the news that there was a failed bid for us came out a week after the Plymouth link.

How entitled and modern day-ism when fans are getting upset that a player doesn't get someone else to write a few words on Instagram for him.

75% of them are insincere anyway. Imagine social media impacting a players legacy...

Just as much as you - me and others on here wanted the club to say something about up to date info on our manager .
We never get what we want to hear from the club - players when we want to ;)
