Interesting appointments

Tue Jun 24, 2025 10:38 am

There's been a couple of interesting appointments in the championship which will be interesting to see how they pan out, most notably Rob Edwards to Boro and Selles to Sheffield United.

Personally for me the more interesting one out of those will be Selles, will he be able to get them up :?:

I am no football Intelligentsia and have no in-depth knowledge, but what has Selle's achieved?

There seems to be a fashionable group that the media love. Gary O'Neil is another one and dare i say it BBM.

Edwards makes sense though.

Yes Edwards is a shout for Boro, as they have been knocking on the door recently.

Selles though, he's managed in the prem with Southampton, granted he got relegated to league 1 with reading, I think that may have been their points deduction season mind (enough said on that)

He kept Hull in the championship last season, so what will be interesting is to see how he does with one of the championship big boys

I think Hull's survival is more to do with Cardiff's and Luton's spinless collapse.

Selles is the interesting one.

He did an unbelievable job at Reading under extremely difficult circumstances. If you think Tan's bad, he's nowhere near as bad as the owner they've just got rid of.

He then kept Hull up but as has been said, that's partly down to how us and Luton freefalled.

Rob Edwards has something to prove. Did very well at Forest Green, sacked by Watford after only a couple of games and then did well to take Luton up.

But then last season was a complete car crash for him and Luton. Double relegation.
