Clever move by Gareth Bale :

Mon Jun 23, 2025 7:21 pm

Gareth Bale just said :

“he’d love to be involved in a takeover of @CardiffCityFC . ‘It’s a club close to my heart, the Welsh/Cardiff fans are amazing and we’d love to try to take them to the Premier League.”

BREAKING: Gareth Bale confirms bid to buy Cardiff. Says it would be a 'dream come true' and hopes to 'get something done'

Says he wants to take club 'back to the Premier League where it belongs' and consortium is trying to 'engage' with Cardiff.

Very interesting that Bale bothered to talk to Sky Sports at the F1 movie premiere tonight.

Would have known that the question would come up and didn't dodge it.

Clearly was choosing his words carefully but gave a clear answer.

This is clever because it does two things.

1. It's a clear message to Tan in public that this is what Bale wants. Puts pressure on Tan to engage in talks.

2. If nothing now comes of it soon, Bale knows that the fans will ramp up the pressure on Tan.

So this is a very clever move by Gareth Bale and his consortium.

I've been saying for months that any potential buyers should come out in the open and state their case, that way it puts pressure on Tan to react in a positive way, hopefully to engage with buyers and sell up.

Great news I hope. Good luck Mr Bale trying to prize our beloved club out of the vice like grip of absent dictator Tan.

Completely agree. Perfect way to do it by Bale! Please let this happen!

Re: Clever move by Bale

Very clever. I bet Tan is seething he’s gone so public in his interest to buy Cardiff City. This will now undoubtedly force Tan into making some sort of statement?

Get out of our club Vincent!

I done think it's a ploy. Negotiations may be a bit further along than we all think.

Re: Clever move by Gareth Bale :

It certainly puts a bit of pressure on Tan.

It’s still important to remember though that Tan has his price in his head, and doesn’t care at all about the noise created by the fans.

It won’t be a quick and easy process, if it happens at all.

Re: Clever move by Gareth Bale :

Mon Jun 23, 2025 8:21 pm

Sounded like there in negotiations, he said theres more to come on this .

Totally agree

Re: Clever move by Gareth Bale :

Mon Jun 23, 2025 8:41 pm

Bale and the consortium can't do this alone, the fans need to put pressure on the 3 idiots, get them to finally p☆ss off, if they thought anything about the club they will sell up and go to the right person, they have had there fun.

Re: Clever move by Gareth Bale :

Bale usually avoids media stuff like that. Him coming out so straight suggests the club aren’t playing ball in the slightest.

Plymouth link, leak to press and now this, suggest he’s ramping up the pressure. If we want change, we need to come to the party.

Whether it’s an issue with value, the debt he wants to leave or what happens with the Dalman loans, they’re clearly miles off. I would go as far as to say negotiations are yet to even really start. We need to do what we can to encourage the Mr Tan to pack it in and make a deal.

Not sure about that,i think a deal is close , more to come in the coming days suggests this .

it's alright saying this. It's another thing going to Tan and persuading him to let cardiff go.

We all hear/see things differently I guess. I felt him saying “trying to engage” and “in future” suggested they’re a while off. I didn’t hear the next few days but that is positive. Still think it’s hard unless Dalman is involved but I’ve got most things crossed. Making it clear to Tan it’s time to go is crucial though.

I'll tell you this as a fact.

Dalman is desperate for Tan to sell the club, he hates Tan now.

The debt with Dalman will have to be sorted but I know for a fact he will be flexible with it if it means a new owner comes in.

He doesn't even talk to Tan properly these days.

I’ve heard similar re: Dalman and Tan, though not surprising. His lack of attendance towards the end of the season spoke volumes. Business is business, so let’s hope there is a deal to be done and the sooner the better.

I even think Dalman would transfer his loan notes over to new owners at a lower intrest rate just to break his link with Tan. He can see his investment could double with the right owners who show ambition on and off the field.

Simple question? Tan or Bale. Now, if you asked Tan this question.......... He knows the wrong answer will move a mountain of people against him. If Tan doesnt make this happen, then he loses his final shred of honour.

I see it the same as you do, but i'm certainly getting more optimistic that this might now happen.

Two of the promises Tan always stated was that he would leave the club in a better condition than when he found it and we would be sold to a "suitable" buyer.

Well in Bale he's now at least got the opportunity to do the latter, as he's failed dismally on the former.

There's a deal to be done so no reason at all for tan not to finally sell and we can all move on.

And if Tan doesn't use this opportunity to finally go then he should be hounded out as this could be the best opportunity in the clubs history and evolution.

Re: Clever move by Gareth Bale :

Bale’s confidence in the interview gives me hope, but we all know how stubborn Tan can be. He didn’t feel the pressure of relegation, he’s never around so I won’t get too excited until there is more info. But we can dream, and as above it feels like the group is doing all they can to try get something moving.

An interesting few weeks and months ahead. I do believe the supporters will have a part to play in getting any sale over the line. We seem in a difficult spot to sell without compromise.

Re: Clever move by Gareth Bale :

Tue Jun 24, 2025 7:35 am

I don’t think he will ever get any of the mythical 100 million he’s blown on bad mgt back unless he lets the club go and retains a small stake, then if the new owners manage to get us up and keep us up, his stake will be worth far more…..I’d have to assume if he he doesn’t let the club go after allegedly losing so much, that he’s full of it and things ain’t so bad after all…..

You are correct, Bale is deliberately putting it out in the open to show us and to put pressure on the Tan Regime.

This has been going on for quite a while.

Sadly the few ardent Tan fans still left ( bless them , they need help) they don’t want their Tan to go, very few but none the less they still like him and don’t want to believe it could be becoming the end of the Dictatorship.

It’s quite far off yet though.

Re: Clever move by Gareth Bale :

Tue Jun 24, 2025 7:50 am

The sad fact for Tan is that we are an L1 club; there's no dressing it up. Big ground, big infrastructure, maybe a big reputation, but its L1 and can only be sold as that.

If we don't go straight back up, then the players who failed to gain promotion will be worth less, they would have failed to live up to the big valuation some of them have.

Tan is between a rock and a hard place, but Bale gives him a face-saving way out by handing it over to the right person, even if it is a significant loss.

Just take the medicine.

Just goes to show that there are people out there willing to buy us for the ones who are too scared to let Tan go because of the alleged money he’s putting in to keep us afloat.
